www.wcvb.com/article/dead-inmate-edward-mayrand-charged-as-serial-killer-in-mass-n-h/8214097www.providencejournal.com/article/20141223/NEWS/312239954 Wanted to provide an update on another AMW Capture,#343 Edward Mayrand who was busted by AMW in 1995 in CT for the murder of one woman(Patricia Paquette) but had long been a suspect in the murders of two other women,Kathleen Daneault on Nov. 17, 1983 and Judith Whitney on July 1st,1987, since he was the last person seen with both of them before their bodies were found. But until advances in DNA testing came into play, there was no way to conclusively prove his guilt and those cases remained cold. That changed after his death in prison in 2011 and by Dec 23rd of 2014,cops in NH and MA were able to prove his DNA was on both of the victims thus linking him to their deaths. It does appear based on what investigators found that he isn't linked to any other murders but as with Charles Manley(who was linked to a murder 18 years prier to the one that got him on AMW),I have no doubt there are other victims as people just don't wake up when they are 40 and start killing. In any case,I'm glad that Kathleen and Judith's families finally got answers as to who killed their loved ones and that he died in prison where he belonged.

Sort of off-topic but I don't know if those cases were ever on the show and not to put the pressure on him but I know pakman recalled some specific instances on the old amw.com propsero forums, but there have been multiple occasions where an AMW fugitive wanted for one crime turned out to be the culprit in other cases aired on the show. It is interesting. This is why I say you should never say things like "well this guy is wanted for a triple homicide while this guy is only wanted for one." You never know how truly evil and even worse than initially thought someone may be.

Gerald Ray Reeves, Capture #129, was actually wanted for two separate crimes. The more serious charge was a murder case. While on the run, and using an alias, he committed some thefts. Investigators in both cases asked AMW to look into them, and AMW producers realized that the two suspects were the same person after comparing notes.
Kenneth Tucker, an indirect AMW capture from 2000 or so, was later charged with the 1999 murder of Jana Eyster - which was profiled on AMW in 2003.
Joseph Crouch, Capture #747, was a serial bank robber in Florida nicknamed The Geritol Bandit while he was on the run from murder charges out of Tennessee.
One of the most recent ones I can think of were two unknown cases that were linked to the same person. AMW aired the case of the Unknown Gold Coast Casino Robber in 2006. He was wanted for robbing a casino in Las Vegas then shooting at responding officers. In 2007, AMW put another unidentified Las Vegas bank robber on its website, and tipsters identified the suspect as Charles Lucas, who committed suicide as cops closed in on him. Lucas was later identified as the suspect in the Gold Coast Casino robbery.

You never know how truly evil and even worse than initially thought someone may be. From what I've read in Mayrand's case,he was the prime suspect from day one in both of the killings he was finally linked to so it's possible that was mentioned during the AMW profile of him. I remember the railroad killer being one of the cases where an unknown killer case (Chris Meier) was linked to him.

I remember Meisberger from an AMW: Final Justice episode. Kind of surprised he got out at all, but I think he was pretty young at the time. Whether he deserves his second chance or not, I hope he's no longer a danger to society.

Whether he deserves his second chance or not, I hope he's no longer a danger to society. Indiana's gain time laws until recently(they were changed in 2013)were among the most generous in the nation to inmates, even to ones who had committed violent crimes. If you behaved every day,you would get three days cut off your sentence. Participate in programs and you'd get even more time off. It's how Meisberger and some of the other folks caught by AMW for crimes committed there (especially from the early years) are out now even though they got sentences ranging from 20-50 years. Heck,if Sarah Pender hadn't escaped, she would have been out in the mid to late 2020's.

I vaguely remember the case from Final Justice reruns but I didn't know about his recent legal troubles until this past week.

Wanted to provide updates on a few more AMW captures based on what I've found. #224 Henry David Turkel - Turkel was busted by AMW on October 9,1992 for conning a Palm Beach,FL widow out of more then $350,000 dollars. It doesn't appear he did prison time for it(most likely a plea deal was done where he paid back the money.) but if you're wondering if he learned his lesson,he didn't. According to the Florida DOC records,he was arrested in April of 2016 for grand theft and will be on probation until 2020. It appears he is like AMW Captures Anthony Quick and Lizzette Garvin in that being a crook is all he knows and I won't be shcoked to see him get arrested again down the line. Amw Capture 256 - John Walter Mann - A former Disney employee convicted of raping two college interns and suspected in the rapes of six other women,Mann was busted by AMW in 93 and sentenced to 24 years in prison in 1994. But due to the gain time laws in place at the time,he only served about 10 and a half years before being released in 2004. However, almost two years after his release on October 26,2006 he died. I couldn't find from what but whatever the cause of death was, this is one AMW offender who will never be hurting anyone ever again. John Patrick Kravec - After a AMW watching prison inmate saw him on TV,he was extradited back to Syracuse,NY to face attempted murder charges. He was sentenced to 10 to 20 years on those charges and was paroled on June 13,2013. His parole isn't due to expire until 2021 however. jailalert.com/arrest-records/stacy-ann-sapp-2254779.html Amw Capture 427 Stacy Sapp AKA Stacey Sapp- I wasn't able to find details of the actual crash Stacy was involved in but I was able to find out that after AMW busted her in July of 96,she was sentenced to over eight years in prison for vehicular homicide before being released on April 30,2003. However,as the link above shows, she hasn't stayed out of trouble since being released, having been arrested numerous times for shop lifting and driving without a valid license among other things. She's out of jail for now but given the fact she can't stay out of legal trouble, one has to wonder how long that will last?

Some more updates on AMW Captures. Amw Capture #427 - Stacey Ann Sapp - Update on the post from yesterday. I was able to find out via Newslibrary(I have a pass) the details of Sapp's case. The police suspected she was driving drunk(she was) and tried to pull her over. She swerved to try and avoid them and as a result, her pickup truck flipped several times. That led to the death of her 18 year old female passenger, who was pronounced DOA at the hospital.
Amw Capture #420 Curtis Dupree and Amw Capture #421 Kelton Nakail Birdow - According to Newslibrary,Dupree and Birdow were originally featured on AMW as part of a crew of bungling robbers who ripped ATM machines machines from businessesand got identified due to them unloading the goods under a street light where cameras could record them as well as a license plate from the truck they used falling at one of the crime scenes as one of the ATMS they stole fell out of their truck and took the license plate with it. No wonder they made they were shown on the World's Dumbest Criminals, the Maury Povich Show and finally AMW as laughing stocks. When they were busted in Fort Worth together on May 16,1996 after AMW profiled,Dupree told the cops they and AMW were good at their jobs. Wasn't able to find anything on what he got as punishment but he's out of prison as far as I can tell.
Not the case for Kelton Birdow. Several of us have noted some AMW bad guys/gals have been linked to other crimes after they've been caught, whether by AMW or other means. That was the case with Birdow. More then two years after AMW caught him,he would be charged on May 28th 1998,with two counts of capital murder for a 1994 robbery in which he and another man(no one from the ATM crew) murdered a cook and shift manager at a Jack In The Box for $800 in cash. He would be found guilty and sentenced to life with the possibility of parole in 40 years,in his case 2038. His case should serve as a warning. At the time Birdow was making the rounds as a stupid idiot,no one(including the police who were using the media to try and find him and Dupree) knew he was linked to two brutal murders. It's a reminder to all of us that people you think can't be dangerous actually are.

Kind of like how some people in upstate New York considered Ralph "Bucky" Phillips a folk hero after he escaped from prison and shot at a cop. One local restaurant even came out with a B.U.C.K.Y. Burger (It stood for Bacon Under Cheese Ketchup and Yellow Mustard). That tone suddenly changed when he shot at two more cops, killing one of them.

Sad to say but given the area,it didn't surprise me at all. Lots of anti-government folks in that area of NY. I would say what set Birdow apart from other AMW guys(including the names you mentioned a few posts up) is that no one had a clue at the time he was involved in a double homicide. He was a punchline until he wasn't.

I had no idea as to how 'Bucky' Phillips was given his own burger (that is before he shot and killed that New York state Trooper), I remember him very well he was one of my most infamous AMW fugitives that I was aware of when I was in Middle school/high school. Also I don't know as to why I even think this but wasn't Ralph 'Bucky' Phillips on both MOST WANTED LIST(S)? That's the infamous TOP Ten and the infamous TOP 15 because I specifically remember seeing his picture on the Top 15 (but according to the FBI he was added as one of their Top Tenners). Has there ever been (if it's true about that of what I suspect about 'Bucky' Phillips) an AMW fugitive where he was so hot and so publicized in the media that authorities added him/her on both the TOP 10 and the TOP 15? Also I was just wondering..... I know that 'Bucky' was somewhat of a folk hero/legend/outlaw when he was on the run and that besides having a burger named after him many upstate New Yorkers would spray/paint "RUN BUCKY RUN" support signs on the windows of their cars, and that got me thinking..... Has there ever been other AMW fugitives that were popular or had a fan following that of supporting his or her or their run from the law like they did in "SMOKEY & THE BANDIT", plus as well as that of leaving notes while on the run? I remember hearing that (and I don't know to as if he was on AMW) Danny Ray Horning who murdered a man in Stockton, CA and then dismembered him and then was caught robbing a bank in Winslow, AZ and then he dares an Arizona judge to give him the harshest sentence that he can possibly think of and then he does break out and runs/eludes authorities in the Grand Canyon Nat'l Park..... Well I heard that when Horning was on the run after he broke out he left a note in a ranch house that he'd broken into for food and guns that said something along the lines of "Thanks For The Supplies" -Danny Ray. Has there ever been any other fugitives besides Phillips and Horning that had a fan following and sometimes he left mail for their fans (even if they weren't fans at all and it was just his/their way of rubbing law enforcement's noses into it) ?
