Kind of like how some people in upstate New York considered Ralph "Bucky" Phillips a folk hero after he escaped from prison and shot at a cop. One local restaurant even came out with a B.U.C.K.Y. Burger (It stood for Bacon Under Cheese Ketchup and Yellow Mustard). That tone suddenly changed when he shot at two more cops, killing one of them.
I had no idea as to how 'Bucky' Phillips was given his own burger (that is before he shot and killed that New York state Trooper), I remember him very well he was one of my most infamous AMW fugitives that I was aware of when I was in Middle school/high school. Also I don't know as to why I even think this but wasn't Ralph 'Bucky' Phillips on both MOST WANTED LIST(S)? That's the infamous TOP Ten and the infamous TOP 15 because I specifically remember seeing his picture on the Top 15 (but according to the FBI he was added as one of their Top Tenners). Has there ever been (if it's true about that of what I suspect about 'Bucky' Phillips) an AMW fugitive where he was so hot and so publicized in the media that authorities added him/her on both the TOP 10 and the TOP 15? Also I was just wondering..... I know that 'Bucky' was somewhat of a folk hero/legend/outlaw when he was on the run and that besides having a burger named after him many upstate New Yorkers would spray/paint "RUN BUCKY RUN" support signs on the windows of their cars, and that got me thinking..... Has there ever been other AMW fugitives that were popular or had a fan following that of supporting his or her or their run from the law like they did in "SMOKEY & THE BANDIT", plus as well as that of leaving notes while on the run? I remember hearing that (and I don't know to as if he was on AMW) Danny Ray Horning who murdered a man in Stockton, CA and then dismembered him and then was caught robbing a bank in Winslow, AZ and then he dares an Arizona judge to give him the harshest sentence that he can possibly think of and then he does break out and runs/eludes authorities in the Grand Canyon Nat'l Park..... Well I heard that when Horning was on the run after he broke out he left a note in a ranch house that he'd broken into for food and guns that said something along the lines of "Thanks For The Supplies" -Danny Ray. Has there ever been any other fugitives besides Phillips and Horning that had a fan following and sometimes he left mail for their fans (even if they weren't fans at all and it was just his/their way of rubbing law enforcement's noses into it) ? The closest thing I can think of is the still unsolved San Diego Geezer Bandit from back in January of '011. He even got his own t-shirts, if I remember correctly! |

Update time using info I got from Newslibrary.
AMW Capture #222 Phillip Nutte was wanted out of Richmond,California for engaging in a shootout that left a police officer with hip injuries.
He was busted in Atlanta,Georgia at a rap studio.
He was found guilty but I can't find out how much time he got.
All I can tell you is that according to a search of the California Department of Corrections,he is no longer an inmate.
AMW Capture #422 Mary Anderson was wanted out of Detroit,Michigan for several bank robberies.
After she was busted in NY by AMW viewers,she would be sentenced to a little over six years in federal prison and was released on 08/23/2002.
AMW Capture #424 Anthony Frank McKinley - McKinley was wanted out of Mississippi for breaking out of a local jail after he had been sentenced to life in prison for killing another man during an argument.
He would be busted and sent back to MS to serve his life sentence.
AMW Capture #425 John Flaggs was wanted out of Sacramento,California for the parental abduction of his four year old son from his ex wife.
It doesn't appear he got any prison time which seems to be the norm for a lot of the parental abduction cases solved by AMW.
Not right IMO.

Some more info on old captures. AMW Captures #130 Susan Peterson and #131 Raymond Mitchell were wanted out of Oregon for the 1985 killing of Susan's ex-husband. After they were busted in Wyoming,they would both plead guilty and be sentenced to 18-40 years. Neither of them show up when you search Oregon prison records though so it's safe to assume both have been released. AMW Capture #253 Larry Williamson was wanted out of Kentucky for killing a man outside a bar after an argument in August of 1992. He would be found guilty and sentenced to 30 years in prison. As is the story with many early AMW captures,he was released well before that in the early 2010's but he hasn't stayed out of trouble as he was busted for possession of meth in 2017 and will be on probation until 2022. AMW Capture #341 Renard Elvis Nelson(Elvis Raynard Nelson was one of his aliases.) newsok.com/article/2618861/man-sentenced-in-tulsa-kidnappingNelson was wanted out of Tulsa,Oklahoma for the kidnapping and molestation of his ex-girlfriend's 7 year old daughter in 1993. He was originally sentenced to 60 years but the verdict was thrown out on appeal and he was resentenced to 20 years. Once again,due to the gain time laws at the time(states started changing them in the mid to late 90's) so instead of doing 20 years in prison,he did nine and was released in July of 2004. No wonder people pushed for gain time laws to get changed. Amw Capture #353 Joseph Solar Jr. - Solar was wanted out of Louisiana on charges of child molestation, battery and resisting arrest. AMW viewers would lead cops to his son's house in California. I saw that he got prison time but I don't know how much,only that he's out now. |

Clayton Waagner was on both lists. I believe he and Phillips are the only two fugitives to be on both lists at the same time (James Ray Renton was on both lists, but years apart and for separate crimes) |

AMW Capture #172 Henrietta Ganote was wanted out of Nebraska for breaking out of prison where she was serving a prison sentence for killing her infant daughter.
After AMW busted her, a plea deal ensured she wouldn't be sentenced as a habitual offender and thus she only served a few more years in prison before being released in 1995.
AMW Capture #175 Jessie Lee Baker - Baker was already in jail when AMW profiled him for the murder and robbery of a woman in Florida. He was sentenced to 30 years but under Florida's gain time laws at the time,he was released in 2007 after serving only 17 years.
However,he hasn't been able to abide by the terms of his probation and has gone back to prison four times since then,including last year.
His newest release date won't be until 2023.
AMW Capture #185 Charles Webster Ferguson - Ferguson tried to kill his ex-girlfriend and escaped from court right after he was convicted.
He would be caught in 92 in California and was sent to prison in Indiana.
He would only serve four years of that sentence before dying in the summer of 96.
Amw Capture #631 Richard J Terwilliger - A child rapist wanted out of New Jersey for raping three different girls.
His earlier release date wasn't supposed to be until late 2020 but according to New Jersey prison records,he won't be making that release date because he died which makes him another predator we don't have to worry about anymore.
AMW Capture #638 Jean Paul Gibson - Gibson was sentenced to 29 years in a plea agreement for trying to kill his ex-wife and killing a man who tried to help her and kidnapping his son.
He died in prison in 2010 so his ex-wife and son will never have to worry about him again.
And finally there is AMW Capture #1142 Jack Allen Poteat who was wanted out of North Carolina for raping a 14 year old girl and went on the run using his friend's identity(ruining his friend's name in the process.)
After AMW busted him,he was sentenced to about four and a half years and was released a few months early.
However,this is another AMW bad guy that won't be hurting anyone again because he died in August of 2018 per his obituary which I won't show because it was written by his family and(understandably) portrays him in a much more positive light then the monster he really was.

AMW Capture #279 - James Pierce was wanted out of Indiana for kidnapping and raping a three year old.
He was originally sentenced to 40 years but with Indiana's gain time laws(they have been changed) he was going to released in 2010.
However he died of natural causes before he got the chance to see freedom again and to that I say good riddance.
One more child predator we no longer have to worry about
AMW Capture # 389 - William Harvey - Serving a life sentence with parole,Harvey escaped from prison in WV and would be busted by AMW in 95.
While the escape certainly hurt his parole chances for a time,if you look him up on Vinelink and West Virginia corrections,today,you will see that he has been paroled.
AMW Capture #392 - Ronald Craig Vahue - A child predator busted by AMW in late 95. Vahue was released from prison in January of 2012 and is now a registered sex predator for life.
AMW Capture #439 - Ronald Mark Robb - Robb and a companion raped and tortured a woman and left her to die. He was sentenced to 18 years in prison and served 17 years of it before being released in 2014. He is now a registered sex offender for life and is currently living in Ohio.
AMW Capture #447 Joni Denise Nellems was wanted for targeting an acquaintance for a home invasion robbery and beating. Not sure how long of a prison she got for those crimes but a quick search of her name on Google will show several arrests since the late 2000's to present day for drug charges and retail theft.
Put it bluntly,you can see from the various mugshots that she has a serious drug problem.
She is now on parole(was released last month) until 2020 for drug possession and grand theft.
One can only hope that she sought treatment for her obvious drug addiction while she was in prison.
Because if she still giving in to her addictions,it's not out of the question she could hurt others in the future given her violent past.

After a few days,am back with some more updates.
AMW Capture #676 - Douglas Oneil Hannam - Hannam was wanted for his part in a robbery of a Florida body shop in which the owner was shot to death.
He was originally charged with first degree murder but in a plea agreement,he plead guilty to third degree murder and was sentenced to 15 years.
He served 85% of that sentence and was released in May of 2014.
AMW Capture #734 - Kristina Eaddy - She was wanted for shooting her boyfriend's ex girlfriend.
After AMW busted her in November of 2002,she was sentenced to ten years in prison(with credit for the jail time she served after AMW caught her)and was released a few months shy of the expiration of that sentence on June 26,2012.
AMW Capture #796 - Gordan Weaver - Wanted out of Minnesota for the murder of his wife.
After AMW caught him in May of 04,he was originally sentenced to 25 years.
Sad to say but through various legal challenges,he was able to get that reduced and he was paroled in November of 2016.
AMW Capture #825 - Dustin Pino - After brutally beating his girlfriend into a coma(she survived),Pino would be busted in Feb. of 2005 and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
As with many of the Indiana captures however,he ended up serving far less time then that(in this case 11 years) and was released in Feb. of 2016 but he isn't totally free as he will be forced to register as a violent offender for the rest of his life.
AMW Capture #981 - Proboodat Joucoo - A man wanted for a brutal attack on his wife using a machete in NY.
AMW tipsters would bust him in May of 06 but he ended up only getting 15 years.
He was paroled at some point this month(after serving 85% of his sentence) and is now back on the streets.
