And next week is the season finale* with Alejandro Castillo as the first case. Hopefully this can finally capture him.
Also I was being purposely ominous since I thought the news would be announced by now but I guess I’ll give away the surprise since it still hasn’t and with next week being the supposed season finale- my source told me Fox was actually so happy with AMW’s initial ratings they approved 9 more episodes for this season. Whether that means there will be a brief hiatus or the nine episodes will start after next week I have no idea though. So good day all around today besides that brief Daytona interruption lol

Also amwtips.com just put 1192 in their capture counter so this is probably even more proof they’re counting Davie Albarran as direct.

Just one more comment for the night- John actually mentioned the missing child alert tonight (Terry Boswell) that the mother has a felony warrant but they don’t show the photo. This is odd since In Pursuit would albeit very brief also show the photo of the known abductor. It’s a step up from not mentioning it all of course. Just wanted to make some light constructive criticism on an otherwise great episode tonight (the wait was worth it) and great day for AMW overall.

They did a flashback of this AMW Fugitive Roland Lavar "Ramadan" Campbell, #428, Jly 30, 1996 A member of New York's Forty Thieves armed robbery gang. Between June and October 1991, he robbed 7 banks and post offices on the gang's behalf. He was busted in Costa Rica and sentenced to 155 years in prison.

Also one of my main complaints about 2021 was the lack of child molestation fugitives profiled. The public really cares about these cases and wants to see these creeps caught, as we can see to how Albarran connected to get a direct capture. This also combined the social media element as well since as we were saying it’s not only tv to capture fugitives anymore so I hope to get even more direct captures they learn what worked here. (Perfect combo of appealing case, recent enough and social media traction).

Wanted to once again mention that this Monday is the season finale of AMw and it will not be on the Monday after but according to a source of mine Fox has already approved nine additional episodes for later on this year , when those will air I have no idea. This was before the capture of Davie Albarran as Fox was overall very pleased with the ratings. (AMW technically dipped a little each week but is still one of the highest performing shows on the network)

And sure enough they officially took credit for Albarran as capture #1210 I mean 1192 tonight and did a segment on his capture!

For some reason they’re doing an update on the news about the discovery of Ted Conrad. I have held it in for too long- I don’t give a sh** about Ted Conrad.

In fairness segment was t as bad as I thought interviewed Ted Conrad’s daughter and John Walsh even acknowledged being thankful he didn’t continue a life of crime. It was still a few minutes that could have went to a missing or fugitive segment.

And that’s a wrap on season 2. I thought tonight was the weakest of the six episodes and I actually mean that as a compliment as it was still pretty good! Even the weakest one wasn’t bad!
We got a capture and better ratings (technically lower than 2021 but better in context compared to competition and other shows on Fox this year ).
Hopefully there will be more captures to follow. Remember OG AMW would profile 7 zillion fugitives a week so law of averages there was bound to be at least 1 or 2 captures a week.
New AMW although showing more cases than In Pursuit or The Hunt is still not showing as many per week as OG AMW and it seems more about the long game now.
A successful return for John and debut for Cal and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

And yeah constructively I would like to see less unserious caught on cameras and more 15 seconds of shame type fugitive deals (caught on cameras are ok here and there but should be limited to known fugitives or a very serious crime- not run of the mill neighborhood stuff). I’d also like more of a focus on the worst of the worst as opposed to variety for the sake of variety. But overall this was leaps and bounds better than Season 1 of the reboot and I can’t wait for AMW to come back. And of course In Pursuit returns soon as well!

With Davie Albarran's direct capture, I want to credit everyone involved for making AMW's 27th season a success! The individual areas of improvement I have confidence will be looked at whenever the next nine episodes are filmed. Despite my negative tone at the beginning-mid part of Season 27, let me say again that overall, I did enjoy watching these six episodes.
