In regards to the caught on tape unidentified robbers, if none of them become “direct captures” this season then AMW needs to do away with the segment entirely. Those cases only need to be shown to a local audience through the news media and Crime Stoppers. Giving those cases national publicity has proven pointless so far. At least with fugitives, it’s more than likely the fugitive has fled the state, which is why you need national publicity. I really believe the caught on tape (aka. crime alerts) segments is the number one issue holding the show’s potential back. The more I think about it, the more I cannot take that part of the show seriously. I understand that viewers in the 2020s decade find those cases relevant, but not getting any direct captures off those cases does not technically make them relevant. I have a different issue in I’ve been dissatisfied with the selection of caught on camera segments overall- 2021 had an ATM theft who cares. And this year has had 800 bucks stolen from some rich person’s Tesla in Home Depot. Who cares. If you’re going to show caught on cameras at least do the more serious crimes like armed robberies. With that being said I do agree showing APB’s or 15 seconds of shame fugitives would be more useful from a capture perspective I should mention another thing about the crime alerts. AMW is obviously getting most of the cases from local law enforcement. The issue with Season 26 was that they were getting most of the fugitive cases from federal law enforcement and not local law enforcement. I feel that fugitives wanted by local law enforcement should in theory be easier to catch. You had mentioned this earlier as well I believe Scumhunter. So far for Season 27 they appear to be making a bigger emphasis on local fugitive cases. Why not request more locally investigated fugitives for 15 SOS/BOLO alerts. That would give those fugitives the national exposure needed to likely become a direct capture.

I will add once again John and Cal had little to no input on the mostly already preplanned case selection for this season as it was a last minute negotiation in regards to their ID contract to allow them to host the show- so hopefully some of our issues with case selection should improve once they are established to give more input.

Actually now that I've had more time to think about it- I in general don't have a problem with the caught on camera segments but think in general there is too many of them- even On Patrol Live has the "triple play" where they only show three police videos over two episodes- and perhaps one more in a wanted segment. They should probably limit the Caught on Camera stuff to maybe just two segments of the worst of the worst. I also should clarify that I thought week 1 they had a good selection for caught on camera but week 2 the Missouri hate crime bus attack was the only one I felt truly AMW worthy (In addition to the Home Depot robbery- I felt terrible for the store owners that were looted- but it's not like they stormed the Capitol- and smash and grab- not cool- but there's been more violent jewelry store robberies). So perhaps week 3 will get back to the same decent case selection for caught on camera they had on the first episode.

P.S. Pedro Santamaria is the Wilson County fugitive obviously. I should have known this but at least I didn’t prematurely spoil it.

AMW Tipline still isn’t working when you call the number. Someone seriously needs to tell them this because they might miss out on a wanted fugutive.

I wonder if potential tipsters are always dialing a 1 before the tipline, because that’s usually what causes them problems; especially if they’re rushing to alert the show.

Interestingly I believe the last caught on camera (jugging attempt) was also shown on On Patrol: Live.

Next week’s first case preview was a woman surviving a savage knife attack. That’s a pretty vague description so could be any fugitive. Good episode tonight though!

Looks like the next dirtbag is wanted out of Texas for a near fatal stabbing

So I’m watching tonight’s episode and a thought occurred to me, an issue I have with the show so far: is anyone else a bit annoyed about how John talks about himself when talking with the families after the case review? I just find it annoying and I can’t help thinking “It’s not about you John!”
Am I the only one thinking this?

Just wanted to also mention I know Abel Acosta was a case that interested us that AMW actually picked but in general I also want to state in addition to there being limited episodes (for now, I'm being purposely ominous ) a lot of cases that seem like slam dunks for In Pursuit AMW don't make the show because the city's police department with that fugitive doesn't want to participate. (I'm looking at you Philadelphia). I don't know much about AMW's request to acceptance ratio, but if In Pursuit was being turned down for some cases, they must be too. I really don't get not wanting the free publicity and I think it's stupid. The only time I understand is if they're close to catching the fugitive anyway and don't want to spook them into hiding, but in general I feel they're being jerks when they decline. Just a friendly advice to not get mad at AMW if a fugitive you really wanted to get profiled doesn't get profiled. In addition to you can only profile so many fugitives, it's possible they did try and got rejected.

Also after three episodes which is the technical halfway point here’s my review of what I like and to be impartial and fair dislike so far:
Like:
-John and Cal (duh!)
-We can argue as to whether it is necessary, but the round table setup is so much better. Just John and Cal interviewing 1 or 2 people.
-Have shown some catchable fugitives although unfortunately they haven’t translated to captures yet. I feel the recent to cold case ratio is much better though.
-Production value of the re-enactments are pretty good compared to OG AMW
-No more silly graphics of fugitives
-No Nancy Grace after show
Dislikes:
-Caught on camera selection has been overall decent, but some cases I don’t feel are that serious. There are like HeadMarshal said some spots where they could have aired a 15 seconds of shame fugitive or a missing child instead.
-I also get it but I didn’t feel the Pedro Santamaria case was serious enough to warrant a full profile. I understand wanting to show a variety of fugitives so the general public doesn’t get bored with the same type of case but there are a variety of serious non murder cases they could have aired as well. Is it interesting? Yes, but it sacrificed a spot that could have went to a more desperate case.
-Capture counter still isn’t fixed (I will never shut up about this lol)
But yeah overall well done so far!, I just really want a capture already! However I also just realized In Pursuit debuted on January 16th 2019 and their first capture Luis Frias wasn’t until February 6th. Ironically after the third episode. The show did pretty well for the first 2 seasons capture wise after that so there is precedent for a longer than usual wait. Just have to cross our fingers…
