I've also been observing the low ratings for AMW 2.0 and recognizing the issues people have with the time and day of airing along with some people not liking Elizabeth Vargas.
However, the most frustrating reason I feel some people have with the AMW format is that true-crime followers want these shows to cover a single case for the entire hour the episode airs. They want something like the Unsolved Mysteries reboot on Netflix.
I have said repeatedly that the In Pursuit With John Walsh format is perfect for dedicating enough time to cover the cases along with getting a variety of cases out there. The problem is that the more these shows that air unsolved cases cover a single case per episode, the less cases that will get the air time they need. I still really do not understand why nearly all of these cases need to be covered for a full hour (but that is just exclusively my opinion).
With Covid-19 still being around, a switch to Friday/Saturday wouldn't be a bad idea for the producers to consider.

Its rather ironic because you'd think today's young Americans with short attention spans would want faster paced shows, but instead the fascination is now delving deep and having stuff like 12 1 hour podcasts dedicated to a case sometimes. *Sigh*
AMW 2.0 did get their first capture so hopefully that can help somewhat in the "this is a public service shows, it shouldn't be about ratings" argument.

I agree, John Walsh and his family will be pleased as a result of the new show going.

FoxFlash is out with the details for the April 12th episode. It is being referenced as the "season finale" and I want to comment on that after I mention what fugitives will be on that episode. Maurice Nesbitt: Convicted in absentia of the 2014 murder of his girlfriend, Rashawn Jackson. Maurice has also been profiled on In Pursuit. amwfans.com/thread/6105/maurice-nesbitt-georgia-2017Josephine Overaker: Wanted since 2006 on multiple counts of arson in relation to animal rights activism. amwfans.com/thread/1808/josephine-overaker-oregon-2006John Ruffo: Fraudster who has been wanted since the late 1990s and is one of the US Marshals 15 Most Wanted fugitives. amwfans.com/thread/58/john-ruffo-virginia-1998-marshalswww.foxflash.com/releases/view/week-of-apr-11-18-2021Now that we have that covered, let's address the fact that this is the "season finale". Before everyone starts panicking since there's only been five episodes so far, it is not being referenced as the "series finale". I understand we do have to consider that unfortunately with the low ratings. However, there could be an explanation for this. Perhaps they may plan to move the show to a different day and time slot soon where there isn't as much competition from other shows. Or perhaps the contract was only for five episodes in the first season to see how the show will do. We will just need to get more information on this. As far as the main cases for episode five, I'm only really optimistic for Maurice Nesbitt to be a likely capture compared to Overaker and Ruffo. Not saying the latter two fugitives can't be captured as well, I'm just saying it will be harder to do so.

Weird. So when 911 returns to finally give AMW a decent lead-in, it's their season finale instead. I guess we'll see where this goes...

Hey guys, has AMW created a tip line for viewers overseas?
I have not seen anything like that thus far on the show or maybe it’s me.

Not that I know of. That is another criticism I've read is amwtips.com is not available outside the U.S. not even Mexico or Canada.

Just out of curiosity I used my VPN (For the record I have a VPN for privacy and generally non-shady reasons unless you count watching the Office on Netflix with a VPN since it's no longer on US netflix shady lol) to "pretend" I was in Mexico and Canada. Inpursuittips.com worked. Amwtips.com blocked me.
This pretty much confirms you can only submit tips to amwtips.com if you live in the continental U.S. and I always stress I don't want to turn it into a competition but I don't get why you can submit a tip to a cable channel's show but not one of the "big 4" major networks.

I swear I am enjoying the show and these are constructive criticisms if they can survive the "ratings pigs"- but I just realized- unless there's a surprise profile- there will be NO child molestation fugitives in the five episodes. To not have any CAC fugitives when trying to honor JW's legacy is a tad messed up to me.

Ok well I just realized Lester Eubanks counts but like a Rick McLean type predator, the only child molester fugitive being profiled is because he's an escaped murderer as well.

Hold on.... AMW 2.0’s 1st season is only 5 episodes?? Why? Is this what Fox’s plan was for the show all along or is it because of ratings? Are we going to get season 2 in a few months I hope?

AMW 2.0 is technically a "new show" being treated as a midseason replacement. Midseason replacements are generally only a few episodes.
However this is the period also known as "sweeps" which is crucial to advertisers and networks.
Advertisers set their rates- how much they're willing to pay for their products to be shown- based on network ratings.
This is usually when networks bring out their best - special episodes of their already best shows or hyped up new shows.
So the fact that AMW has underperformed when it seems Fox brought it back thinking it would generate buzz for advertisers but did the complete opposite unfortunately does not bode well for its' future.

If AMW 2.0 future looks grim, I’m going to be honest, it makes me appreciate In Pursuit and ID as a channel a lot more now Honestly Fox should sell the trademark to a true crime channel like ID or another big network that doesn’t have many shows going on and do the same show with the same format and name.

Bob Tang getting a surprise profile in a few minutes- apparently he's replacing what listings said would be John and Julianne Dimitrion. (Rather ironic since the Dimitrions got replaced at the last minute on The Hunt as well (they finally profiled them a few seasons later).
