According to the FBI in West Palm Beach, Katheryne Lugo was abducted from her mother's home in Riviera Beach, Florida on Saturday, January 8, 1994. Lugo was 4 at the time. She was featured on AMW at least as part of a larger segment involving her possible abductor in April of 1999. From the Charley Project: Missing Since

03/06/1989 (35) Age4 years old Height and Weight3'0, 65 pounds Clothing/Jewelry DescriptionUnderpants and a purple and white t-shirt with a picture of the television dinosaur Barney. Distinguishing CharacteristicsHispanic female. Brown hair, brown eyes. Katheryne has pierced ears and a nickel-sized brown birthmark on the hamstring of her right leg. She may use the alias name Parag Khondokar and/or the alias date of birth January 2, 1989. Some agencies spell her first name "Katherine." Details of Disappearance
Katheryne's mother, Frances Moya, sometimes referred to as Francisca Maya, told authorities she last saw Katheryne at approximately 5:30 a.m. on January 8, 1994 at their residence at the Wood's Edge apartment complex on Military Trail, north of Blue Heron Boulevard in Riviera Beach, Florida. Moya departed for work at that time and left Katheryne in the care of her former live-in boyfriend, Misbah Muhammad Kazi. He is not Katheryne's biological father. A photo of Kazi is posted with this case summary. Moya stated that when she returned home at 3:30 p.m., Kazi informed her that he had sent Katheryne to his native Bangladesh. Kazi claimed that he would not allow Katheryne to return to the United States until Moya agreed to give him full custody of their unborn child. Moya was eight months pregnant with a girl in January 1994, and was planning to end her relationship with Kazi. She stated they had been having problems for years and he mistreated her and Katheryne; she had sought an injunction against him for domestic violence in 1992. Authorities believe that Kazi abducted Katheryne in an attempt to force her mother to give up her rights to her unborn baby, and to punish her for terminating two pregnancies during their relationship. He was charged with Katheryne's kidnapping, but was acquitted during his trial. Kazi's defense was that Moya had sent Katheryne away into hiding in a spiteful attempt to frame him for kidnapping the child. He remains the prime suspect in Katheryne's case. Kazi began harassing Moya by telephone after his trial ended, insinuating that he would reveal Katheryne's whereabouts. He never divulged the child's location, telling her in a recorded telephone conversation, "I want you to suffer. Who won the game? Me." Authorities were able to speak to Kazi's father in Bangladesh, but he didn't provide any useful information in the case. Moya believes Kazi's sister, who lived in the United States in 1994 but was later deported, may have been involved in Katheryne's abduction. The sister has never been charged in Katheryne's case. She was one of the key witnesses against Kazi at his kidnapping trial, but recanted her statement that she had last seen Katheryne in his company and testified that she only said that because FBI agents threatened to jail her if she didn't implicate Kazi. Kazi is currently serving a life sentence in a California prison for attempted murder. He was convicted after beating his pregnant fiancee with a hammer in 1995 and leaving her for dead. Authorities stated that Kazi purchased a $300,000 life insurance policy on the woman and intended to kill her in order to receive the settlement. Although he has been offered several deals by prosecutors, Kazi has continued to refuse to cooperate with investigators regarding Katheryne's case. He has offered to produce proof that the child is alive, but has never actually done so. Katheryne's case remains open and unsolved. Authorities believe she may still be alive and within the United States. Her family has ties to New York, New Jersey and West Palm Beach, Florida as well as Bangladesh. Thoughts? It's pretty clear that Kazi is the suspect. But as to Lugo's fate under him remains uncertain. Though I do believe foul play was likely. Anthony Steven Michael Moya was a young boy who was possibly abducted from his home in Denver, Colorado in 1989 and hasn't been seen since. He was at least featured in a missing child alert on AMW in 1990. From the Charley Project: Missing Since
06/12/1989 Missing From
Denver, Colorado ClassificationNon-Family Abduction SexMale RaceHispanic Date of Birth
04/29/1987 (36) Age2 years old Height and Weight
2'0, 26 pounds Clothing/Jewelry Description
Yellow pajama pants. Distinguishing Characteristics
Hispanic male. Brown hair, brown eyes. Anthony has facial dimples. He has blue-colored birthmarks on his buttocks and on his back, and a scar on the back of his right leg. At the time of his disappearance, he had a bald spot on the front of his head where some hair had been pulled out. Details of Disappearance
Anthony and his mother, Jessica Moya, were sleeping on the couch in an apartment in the 500 block of Webster Street, near west Sixth Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard in Denver, Colorado on June 12, 1989 at approximately 8:30 a.m. Anthony, Jessica and her infant daughter were staying with relatives at the time; they had been living in the apartment for about a month. Jessica stated she awoke at approximately 8:45 a.m. and discovered that the front door was open and her son was missing. There was no sign of Anthony or any intruders. He has never been heard from again. Jessica and her boyfriend were questioned after Anthony's disappearance and took polygraph tests. Jessica told the media they both failed and were regarded as suspects in her child's disappearance. She maintains her innocence and stated she believed Anthony had been abducted by a stranger. Other residents of the apartment complex did not report seeing Anthony or any suspicious activity in the area on the morning of his disappearance. Due to the lack of evidence in the child's case, it is classified as a non-family abduction. Thoughts? There's currently not much to go on. Though it's likely his mother knows more than she leading on or his possible abductor was someone from the apartment who got the opportunity. Law enforcement in Cook County, Illinois are looking at a cold case of the murder of a convenience store clerk in 1997. AMW at least featured this case in March, 1999. From the AMW archive. " Police in Cook County Illinois are looking for the person who fired one fatal shot, killing a convenience store clerk in 1997. Cops say, on April 17, 1997 Robert Collins, the overnight clerk at the Shell station in Orland Park, Illinois was alone in the store when a lone person entered the store, fired one shot at Robert and left. Robert died hours later. Police are unsure whether or not the shooting was a botched robbery. No money was taken. Months after the shooting, Cook County Sheriff's Police received a phone call from a man named Bob Reynolds from Poole (sp) Trucking Company. He gave police details about the case they were not publicized. Suddenly, Reynolds hung up. Police do not consider him a suspect, but want to talk to him and find out everything he knows about the shooting. Shell has offered a $20,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooter." Thoughts? There's really not much to go on. Even the "Bob Reynolds" angle doesn't give us much. I look at it differently. Looking back at old AMW harkens to what I said, a crime is a crime is a crime and AMW never shied away from even "minor" crime. Plus given such crimes have been more prevalent as of late, I can see why they are included. I also think that they can be good gateway for people to be engaged since they are less intimidating (compared to their more major cases) and I feel FBI'zing the show can do more harm than good.

And yeah constructively I would like to see less unserious caught on cameras and more 15 seconds of shame type fugitive deals (caught on cameras are ok here and there but should be limited to known fugitives or a very serious crime- not run of the mill neighborhood stuff). I’d also like more of a focus on the worst of the worst as opposed to variety for the sake of variety. But overall this was leaps and bounds better than Season 1 of the reboot and I can’t wait for AMW to come back. And of course In Pursuit returns soon as well! I like to push back on your criticisms on the caught on camera segments. A crime is a crime is a crime and a lot of these segments include serious crime. Plus if I were to be honest the 15 seconds of shame were as less helpful. At least with the caught on camera there's more context.

I’m sure the OJ angle was coincidence. It is a shame that Michael might not have got as much as publicity otherwise but then again the case is still unsolved. To be precise, the theory posits that OJ could truly be innocent and that the real killers could be related to Nicole and Ron's connections to the drug world and the restaurant Ron and Michael worked at. In which such people murdered Nicole, Ron and Michael.

I'm of the opinion that he likely fled to Latin America. Especially since a segment in AMW on him noted that two of his associates, a pair of sisters and Peruvian nationals also fled. Though if he decided to continue the drug business since then, I can't be sure he had it easy. Being an American in the belly of the beast so to speak.

According to an AMW segment on him back in 1996, the girls he shot were targets. Apparently in retaliation towards a rival gang in the area. Assuming he's not still on the run, I wouldn't be surprised if said rival gang got a hold of him before police did or eventually the gang life did him in some other way.

Law enforcement in Hollywood, California are dealing with a cold case on the murder of an aspiring actor on September, 1995. AMW have at least featured the case in January the next year. From a Reddit summary on the case: " Michael Nigg (April 28, 1969 – September 8, 1995) was an aspiring actor who worked as a waiter at a Beverly Hills restaurant. He was shot and killed during an apparent robbery attempt in Hollywood. The Los Angeles Police Department later arrested three suspects but soon released them for lack of evidence. No other suspects have ever been identified, and the killing remains unsolved. The case attracted some media coverage at the time, because Nigg had formerly worked at the Mezzaluna restaurant in Brentwood, where he had been a friend of Ronald Goldman's. Almost 15 months earlier, Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson had been found slain at her home near the restaurant, after he had gone there to return her mother's eyeglasses, which had been left behind at Mezzaluna. Simpson's ex-husband, former football star OJ Simpson, had been charged with the murders, and his highly publicized trial had reached closing arguments. On the evening of September 8, 1995, Nigg and his girlfriend Julie Long were on their way to a restaurant in his Mercedes. They stopped at a bank branch in Hollywood, so Nigg could withdraw some money from his account. Long stayed in the car, parked in the branch lot, while Nigg went up to the automated teller machine, where he withdrew $40. As he did so, two men walked up to him and demanded money. When he refused, one of the men shot Nigg in the head. Afterwards, both robbers walked away, departing in a waiting car. Long, who witnessed the entire incident, was not harmed. The killers did not appear to have taken anything despite their initial aims. The crime was reported promptly. The LAPD looked for the suspects over the weekend but found no leads. On the night after the killing, Nigg’s friends gathered in the parking lot for a candlelight vigil. Among them was actor Mickey Rourke, who spoke to television news crews that came to cover the event. "If anyone knows anything about the shooting that took place," he said, "just give the cops a call." Three months later the LAPD arrested three suspects, including the alleged getaway driver. However, they were quickly released for lack of evidence. Authors Donald Freed and Raymond Briggs claimed in Killing Time (1996), their book about the Simpson case, that an unnamed source told them that while Nigg had lived in Colorado, he was known to law enforcement there to be "involved in the narcotics culture" in Aspen (where another branch of Mezzaluna is located) and Denver. According to journalist Joseph Bosco, who had a reserved seat at the entire trial, Nigg "lived beyond his apparent means", driving a Mercedes and living in a luxury condominium while ostensibly deriving most of his income from waiting tables and occasional low-level acting jobs. " Thoughts?: Descriptions of the suspects have been vague depending on the source but the 1996 AMW segment noted two black males (one the triggerman wearing a stripped shirt and the other possible lookout with composites shown above). Although the OJ connection has some food for thought, I don't put too much stock in it since this seems like a typical robbery gone wrong. This year unfortunately marks thirty years since the murders and the disappearance of Tyrom Theis. In my opinion, I find it hard to see an identified suspect such as him for cases such as this slip away for so long without the person being dead or in hiding with help. Which are the only two possible scenarios on his fate.

Not much as how he died. Which can indicate the likely profile of his killer.

I'm just amazed how he was able to slip through the cracks in both America and Ireland. It's a good possibility he died but I also recall that he fled to Canada with another woman he married.

I can confirm that Anthony Smith was at least featured on AMW in March of 1995. He also is definitely a Jamaican national which I believe he's at if he's not hiding in the eastern US. Unfortunately, there's not much info on him online.

I chalk it up to lack of promotion and the current tv landscape. They should've heavily promoted this comeback online even go so far as to sponsor some notable true crime Youtubers. Maybe this is the young millennial in me talking but the internet is killing the tv star. TV for a lot of people these days are just for sports or big events. Plus keep in mind that it's been over a decade since Walsh last took the helm on AMW. Most who would watch AMW for Walsh have tuned out completely or even assumed Walsh retired or was dead. If I hadn't kept my interest in AMW since joining the forums, I would've been out of the loop too.
Though it is an argument to keep AMW while not worrying about ratings. I say bring it back to Saturday nights and treat it as FOX's answer to 48 Hours (which one would think that was the point all along). Even treating it similar to the educational shows they broadcast when the major networks stopped doing the Saturday morning kids blocks (AMW is doing a better public service than those shows anyway).
