Yeah I might bump him up higher on my 2014 personal most wanted list now when I get a chance to look at it. Also we now know the name of the gang he's in "Born To Kill." I'm assuming they didn't name themselves after the 1947 black-and-white film in this case... I've already raised Tam Minh Le's position on my Most Wanted Fugitives of H2 2014. By the way, this is besides the point, but due to a 74% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes' Flixster Bucket, Born to Kill holds special honor as #28 on my list of the Ancient Top 30 Movies of '947.

Whoever wins this Final match-up will be our pick for best capture of the 8th century of captures besides Michael Blane Brashar and Angel Manuel Rivera!
Patricia Ann Kelley and John D Stoneman, #782/#783, Mrc 4, 2004 On June 24, 2003, in the worst case Guernsey County, Ohio had ever investigated, Stoneman raped and sodomized a 4 year old female spina bifida and hydroenchephalus victim who was under the care of his girlfriend Patricia Ann Kelley (#782), a Licensed Practical Nurse, as Kelley videotaped the disgusting crime. The little girl couldn't see what was happening to her or move. Stoneman was also wanted for storing child pornography on a computer in California, while Kelley had also set up video cameras in front of 2-way mirrors to record children changing their clothing in bathrooms. After 6 airings and 5 months on the show, including John Walsh's Top Ten Fugitives of 2003, this couple of creeps was busted in Toronto, Canada, where Kelley had been working at an airport restaurant. In middle 2005, they admitted to the sexual assault, the girl's family wanted the perps to suffer as miserably as possible, and a judge gave both Stoneman and Kelley two life sentences. Law enforcement may never know how many children this couple had ever victimized.
vs
Ronnie Dontell Drane, #786, Mrc 16, 2004 A US Marshal's 15 Most Wanted half serial killer / half family destroyer. In Gary, Indiana, in October 2002, he shot and killed his aunt Dolores Buchanan and another man named Larry Peaches, and wounded his cousin Herman Buchanan. In November 2002, he sexually murdered a woman in the same city in an unrelated case. In March 2003, Drane and his father hired a hitman to finish off the cousin in Louisville, Kentucky. The plan fell through, but Drane shot Herman to death outside his apartment. He was busted in an apartment in Nashville, Tennessee a month and a half after his addition to the Marshal's Most Wanted list. He's now serving about 2 centuries in prison.

And with that, Pony is eliminated. Now for the semifinal round
Joseph Anthony "Bones" Safrany Jr, #722, Spt 19, 2002 In April 2000, he drove drunk in Tampa, Florida and got in a car wreck. 3 Air Force officers were killed and 1 was wounded. In June 2001, he skipped his trial. By the summer of 2002, America's Most Wanted took up the case. He'd been traveling by public transit across the southern Atlantic coast for a while, and when he found out he was on the program, he went back to Tampa and turned himself in at a bus station. Ironically, "Bones" Safrany surrendered on the first annual Talk Like A Pirate Day. He was offered a sentence of 15 years if he plead guilty, but instead gambled on a Not Guilty plea, lost his case, and got life.
vs
Patricia Ann Kelley and John D Stoneman, #782/#783, Mrc 4, 2004 On June 24, 2003, in the worst case Guernsey County, Ohio had ever investigated, Stoneman raped and sodomized a 4 year old female spina bifida and hydroenchephalus victim who was under the care of his girlfriend Patricia Ann Kelley (#782), a Licensed Practical Nurse, as Kelley videotaped the disgusting crime. Law enforcement may never know how many children this couple had ever victimized.
and
DeMorris Hunter, #744, Fbr 21, 2003 In 198X, he served 13 years for 2nd degree murder in California. In late March 2002, he shot a woman to death in an argument. In May 2002, another woman's body was found in a car trunk in a parking lot near a pharmacy in Florida, and he was named the primary suspect. A few months after he was aired on the COPS credits, he was busted in Houston, Texas. He was sentenced to 11 decades in prison.
vs
Ronnie Dontell Drane, #786, Mrc 16, 2004 A US Marshal's 15 Most Wanted half serial killer / half family destroyer. I'll vote for Stoneman and Kelley for the sexual abuses of countless children, and Ronnie Dontell Drane because one of his 4 murders was a sex slaying.

The Spina Bifida Rapists and DeMorris Hunter advance 0 to 4, and Drane advances 1 to 3. Now we must vote to eliminate one of these 5 cases:
Joseph Anthony "Bones" Safrany (#722) Rafael "Pony" Guillen (#735) John D Stoneman and Patricia Ann Kelley (#782/#783) DeMorris Hunter (#744) Ronnie Dontell Drane (#786)
I'll vote to eliminate Rafael "Pony" Guillen.

Joseph Anthony Safrany Jr defeats Thomas Richard Evered 1 to 3, and Rafael Guillen defeats Gordon Douglas Weaver 4 to 0.
Esat Bici (DECEASED), #723, Oct 29, 2002 An Albanian gang banger. In July 1990, he and 2 accomplices lured, beat, and fatally stabbed a man in Queens, New York because the victim was gay. The case became nationally infamous over the summer of 1990. His partners in crime tried to evade the court system, and Bici fled bail in May 1996. On October 12, 2002, he got in a gunfight in Tijuana, Mexico, and was shot to death. On October 29, an AMW tipster identified his body in the morgue.
vs
Patricia Ann Kelley and John D Stoneman, #782/#783, Mrc 4, 2004 On June 24, 2003, in the worst case Guernsey County, Ohio had ever investigated, Stoneman raped and sodomized a 4 year old female spina bifida and hydroenchephalus victim who was under the care of his girlfriend Patricia Ann Kelley (#782), a Licensed Practical Nurse, as Kelley videotaped the disgusting crime. In middle 2005, they admitted to the sexual assault, the girl's family wanted the perps to suffer as miserably as possible, and a judge gave both Stoneman and Kelley two life sentences. Law enforcement may never know how many children this couple had ever victimized.
and
Eddie W "Lucky" Mathis (DECEASED), #758, Ags 16, 2003 A crack gang banger on the US Marshal's 15 Most Wanted list. In December 1994, he shot a couple to death in Staten Island, New York in order to steal 700 Grand from their drug money stash. 8.6 years later, AMW tipsters led cops to a car dealership in Detroit, Michigan, where Mathis had been working as their top salesman. He led them to his motel, only to get killed in a police shootout.
vs
DeMorris Hunter, #744, Fbr 21, 2003 In 198X, he served 13 years for 2nd degree murder in California. In late March 2002, he shot a woman to death in an argument. In May 2002, another woman's body was found in a car trunk in a parking lot near a pharmacy in Florida, and he was named the primary suspect. A few months after he was aired on the COPS credits, he was busted in Houston, Texas. He was sentenced to 11 decades in prison.
and
Brian David "Emmanuel" Mitchell, #746, Mrc 12, 2003 The Unknown Elizabeth Smart abductor. In June 2002, a 14 year old girl was abducted at knife-point from her bedroom in Salt Lake City, Utah in the middle of the night. For the next 9 months, he held Smart hostage, tied her to trees, and raped her nearly every single day. The missing child case cut the festivities short in the months following the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympics. AMW tips led to a homeless self-proclaimed Mormon prophet in Sandy, Utah who called himself "Emmanuel". Brian David Mitchell and his girlfriend Wanda Ilene Barzee were busted. For about 8 years, Mitchell put up a charade, reciting strange verses in court, and was declared incompetent to stand trial. Barzee was pulled from the capture roster in June 2003 and eventually sentenced to about 1/4 century in prison. After they enabled Mitchell to stand trail in May 2011, he was sentenced to life. During the Capture #750 celebration, John Walsh named Mitchell his new personal favorite capture.
My votes go to Stoneman and Kelley for their countless victims, DeMorris for his death toll of 3, and Drane for his death toll of 4.

I'll vote for Mitchell and TJ Weber because some of their victims were children. Brian David Mitchell and Ronnie Dontell Drane advance 1 to 3.
Thomas Richard Evered, #780, Fbr 28, 2004 The Unknown Internet John Doe #1. He was wanted for videotaping himself having sex with 2 young boys and posting the video online. Law enforcement traced the video back to Baltimore, Maryland, but needed AMW tips to identify the rapist. A tip from Thomas Richard Evered's own mother led to a parking lot in Missoula, Montana, where he surrendered without a struggle. Evered was soon sentenced to life in prison.
vs
Joseph Anthony "Bones" Safrany Jr, #722, Spt 19, 2002 In April 2000, he drove drunk in Tampa, Florida and got in a car wreck. 3 Air Force officers were killed and 1 was wounded. In June 2001, he skipped his trial. By the summer of 2002, America's Most Wanted took up the case. Ironically, "Bones" Safrany surrendered on the first annual Talk Like A Pirate Day. He was offered a sentence of 15 years if he plead guilty, but instead gambled on a Not Guilty plea, lost his case, and got life.
and
Rafael "Pony" Guillen, #735, Nvb 29, 2002 A lost-out Countdown to Justice 2002 contender on many fans' year-end Top 10 lists of 2001. In late January 2000, a woman in El Paso, Texas hired him to kill her husband's paramour. He tied up the mistress and stabbed her to death in front of her children. The woman was arrested but Guillen fled. At the time of his introduction on AMW, he was last seen violently kidnapping his girlfriend, trying to take her from Southern California to Mexico, and beating her. He was busted in Tijuana, Mexico and sentenced to about 44 years to life.
vs
Gordon Douglas Weaver, #796, May 19, 2004 John Walsh's 2000 50/50 Fugitive #MN, named to many fans' personal 2000 year-end most wanted lists. In October 1999, he burned his wife alive and torched their house in Minnesota. In March 2000, he faked his death in Illinois just before he was to be indicted. An amw.com visitor in the town of Florence, Oregon recognized him doing manual labor and computer work for a neighboring family. Weaver was hiding out in a house at a cliff edge, and cops busted him despite a gun being stashed upstairs. He was originally sentenced to about 1/4 century in prison, but he and his lawyer have repeatedly struck bargains with prosecutors to reduce his sentence, and even when they'd pared it down to 7 years left to serve, Weaver and the lawyer vowed to keep at it until he's free.
I'll vote for Bones for the deaths of 3 Air Force soldiers and Guillen for the longer sentence, and the violent murder of a woman he didn't even know.

I'll vote for Buddy Charles Beavers Jr and DeMorris Hunter. Lucky Mathis advances 3 to 1, and DeMorris advances 4 to 0.
James Vincent Sullivan, #715, Jly 3, 2002 A lifelong high-roller and rich bar hopper. On January 16, 1987, a hitman went to the door of James Vincent Sullivan's ex-wife Lita Sullivan in Atlanta, Georgia, produced flowers, pulled out a gun, and killed her with 3 gunshots. Before his capture, he'd last been seen in Costa Rica in April of 1998. He was busted living an upscale, exotic life in Cha'am, Thailand. He's since been sentenced to life without parole.
vs
Brian David "Emmanuel" Mitchell, #746, Mrc 12, 2003 The Unknown Elizabeth Smart abductor. In June 2002, a 14 year old girl was abducted at knife-point from her bedroom in Salt Lake City, Utah in the middle of the night. During the Capture #750 celebration, John Walsh named Mitchell his new personal favorite capture.
and
Timothy John "TJ" Weber, #701, Apl 29, 2002 In early April 2002, he tied down and raped his girlfriend's daughter. When his girlfriend and her son came home in the middle of it, he suffocated both of them to death with plastic bags and left the young girl wounded. About a week later, he attacked and wounded the rape victim's eldest brother and his teacher. After this frightening case unfolded, he was added to the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list, but an AMW tipster busted him before his addition could be published. He was caught hanging black bags over some windows in a trailer, and may have been condemned to death.
I've come to a decision. First, Hernandez's descendant may have known about her, and had plenty of time to call AMW to confirm she was dead. But I think the tipster who recognized Bici stumbled upon his body by chance, and thus law enforcement was really lucky to close the case before he would've been buried. Second, despite the good comic relief from the tip that busted the Hentzes, the spina bifida rapists were far more dangerous and disgusting, and I don't know if authorities across America will ever figure out how many children they hurt. So I vote for Bici and Stoneman. Bici defeats Hernandez 3 to 2, and the spina bifida rapists defeat the Hentzes 0 to 5.
He led them to his motel, only to get killed in a police shootout.
vs
Buddy Charles Beavers Jr, #768, Nvb 10, 2003 A pyromaniac ex-cop gone bad on the US Marshal's 15 Most Wanted list. In 1995, he was working as a security guard, and torched the business, in hopes he'd look like a hero when he helped douse it. In December 1998, in Connecticut, he burned his mother's house, killing her. He was last seen in February 1999 in a carjacking, until an AMW tipster directed cops to Miami, where he was living homeless with fake IDs. His arresting officer handcuffed him underneath a pier. He was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
and
DeMorris Hunter, #744, Fbr 21, 2003 In 198X, he served 13 years for 2nd degree murder in California. In late March 2002, he shot a woman to death in an argument. vs
Jose Quinones Velasquez, #770, Nvb 12, 2003 In 1988, he kidnapped and murdered a man, then kidnapped and disemboweled an elder in Puerto Rico. He was arrested and sentenced to a century in prison, but in May 1999 he escaped in a violent prison break. He was busted installing household insulation in Chicago, Illinois 3 1/2 years later.

He hasn't been caught yet, but this news is among the next best things! This breaks Jose Luis "Smiley, Peanut" Saenz's record for highest ranked AMW Annual Top Ten fugitive to be added to the FBI's Top Ten. So the rule of FBI Top Ten fugitives ranking low on Walsh's year-end Top Ten has an exception. And if there are anyone out there who think Islam or Islamism had anything to do with this new addition, I have to make it abundantly clear: Said is now a suspect in 2 murders, one of them a 17 year old, and a person of interest in a 3rd murder in Egypt. Plus, detectives are slowly collecting evidence that he molested his daughters when they were younger, and he may be hurting more children today!

I'll vote for Rafael Guillen and Boris George Graham. Guillen defeats Severs 1 to 3, and Graham vs Weaver ended in a draw. Now I have to flip another coin. If heads, Boris. If tails, Gordon. Aaand... HTT. Gordon Douglas Weaver advances.
Esat Bici (DECEASED), #723, Oct 29, 2002 An Albanian gang banger. In July 1990, he and 2 accomplices lured, beat, and fatally stabbed a man in Queens, New York because the victim was gay. vs
Annette Hernandez (DECEASED), #737, Jnr 9, 2003 In December 1970, she set up a man at a party with a view to robbing him and stealing his wallet. Once caught in her trap, the robbery went bad, and she shot him dead. She got locked up for it shortly later. She and her cellmate broke out of a California prison in May 1972. At the beginning of 2003, her descendant called AMW and confirmed that in August 1985, she'd killed herself by overdosing on prescription medications in Bellflower, California.
and
Larry Shelton Hentz and Elizabeth Lacy Hentz, #774/#775, Dcb 11, 2003 Larry killed a man in a dispute over a woman, made some bomb threats, burglarized some homes, and committed other property crimes. For all his offences, he was sentenced to life in a Mississippi prison in 1982. In November 2003, his wife Elizabeth busted him out somehow. Police had speculated that maybe, after he escaped the prison grounds, she drove his getaway vehicle, but said car was never found. The next month, someone entrusted them to drive her from the southeast to the west coast, but left her stranded in or around Kansas. After the AMW broadcast, the woman recognized her traitorous drivers as the Hentzes, and sought revenge, so she called in the tips, led cops to San Diego, California, and busted them.
vs
Patricia Ann Kelley and John D Stoneman, #782/#783, Mrc 4, 2004 On June 24, 2003, in the worst case Guernsey County, Ohio had ever investigated, Stoneman raped and sodomized a 4 year old female spina bifida and hydroenchephalus victim who was under the care of his girlfriend Patricia Ann Kelley (#782), a Licensed Practical Nurse, as Kelley videotaped the disgusting crime. Internet John Doe #1 defeats the Miami Day Care Rapist 1 to 3, but Olin Earl Young Jr vs Joseph Anthony "Bones" Safrany Jr ended in a draw. Now I have to flip a coin. If heads, Olin. If tails, Bones. Aaand... TTH. Joseph Anthony Safrany advances
William C Severs, #725, Nvb 4, 2002 A former candle manufacturing company owner. In June 2002, he killed his ex-girlfriend in a sniper attack. 3 other bystanders were unharmed, and a few hours later the rifle was found in a nearby baseball diamond. For 4 months, he stayed on the run by frequently transferring his possessions from city to city, but couldn't hide his trail from AMW, and he was busted in Ocean City, Maryland. He was later sentenced to between 5 and 6 decades in prison.
vs
Rafael "Pony" Guillen, #735, Nvb 29, 2002 A lost-out Countdown to Justice 2002 contender on many fans' year-end Top 10 lists of 2001. In late January 2000, a woman in El Paso, Texas hired him to kill her husband's paramour. He tied up the mistress and stabbed her to death in front of her children. The woman was arrested but Guillen fled. At the time of his introduction on AMW, he was last seen violently kidnapping his girlfriend, trying to take her from Southern California to Mexico, and beating her. He was busted in Tijuana, Mexico and sentenced to about 44 years to life.
and
Boris George Graham, #778, Jnr 24, 2004 In February 1999, he abducted a wealthy businessman, locked him in the trunk of his own Bentley, and tried to drive away to a ransom site. Instead, he crashed into a tree in Woodland Hills, California, killing the businessman in the car wreck. He was busted in Broward County, Florida working as a drug dealer and has since been sentenced to life in prison.
vs

Time to start the 8th Century contest at long last!
Michael Thomas Seibert, #748, Mrc 26, 2003 The Unknown Miami Daycare Rapist. Between 1998 and 2002, at least 4, perhaps 7 women were raped at weaponpoint in front of their children outside of day care facilities in Miami. 3 of the victims were pregnant, and their feti were harmed. AMW busted Michael Thomas Seibert for the sexual assaults in nearby New Smyrna Beach. He was convicted and sentenced to 7 life terms.
vs
Thomas Richard Evered, #780, Fbr 28, 2004 The Unknown Internet John Doe #1. He was wanted for videotaping himself having sex with 2 young boys and posting the video online. Law enforcement traced the video back to Baltimore, Maryland, but needed AMW tips to identify the rapist. A tip from Thomas Richard Evered's own mother led to a parking lot in Missoula, Montana, where he surrendered without a struggle. Evered was soon sentenced to life in prison.
and
Olin Earl Young Jr, #711, Jne 3, 2002 In late August 1999, he drove drunk and crashed in South Carolina. Wrecked in the pile-up were 2 cars and an 18-wheeler truck. A woman and a 4 year old girl were killed, and 3 people were wounded. After his 8-second commercial break airing, he was busted showing up for work at a construction site in Lewisville, Texas. He was sentenced to 45 years to life. Given that he was born in circa 1943, he'll probably die in prison before his 2047 release date.
vs
None of these four captures will ever leave prison alive, so sentencing is not an issue. For the first match-up, they were both unknown cases. Seibert was more violent in his crimes, and his victims were mostly pregnant women. Evered sexually assaulted at least 2 male children, and his own mother dropped a dime on him. I'll give the slight edge to Evered for his own mother leading to his capture. Second, two deadly car wrecks. With Olin, the casualty toll was 1 adult and 1 child under 5 dead, and 3 wounded. With Bones, the victims were 3 dead, 1 wounded, all members of the Air Force. I'll vote for "Bones" Safrany for killing 3 military men, and his failed gamble on a Not Guilty plea.

And the winner for Best Capture of the 7th Century of Captures besides the Texas Seven and Eric "Doc" Franklin Rosser is the solution to the unsolved Smyrna Captain D's Triple Murder! Two tremendously evil murderers who couldn't stay out of trouble after seemingly getting away with it at first, landing in prison on newer charges the very next summer, and AMW catches them in 2 different prisons in 2 different far-away states. One was condemned to death, and neither will ever be released from prison alive.
I've just returned from a Thanksgiving dinner party, and the 7th Century preliminary recommendations are posted below! I'm blackballing Michael Blane Brashar and Angel Manuel Rivera! Those two would throw the brackets furthest off balance! The 8th Century of Captures was kind of a big deal, so there's 40 to choose from this time!
