I'll vote for Malave and Preston-Washington. Those two advance to the finals. Whoever wins this match-up will be our choice for best capture of the 10th century of captures!
James H Malave, #956, Ags 14, 2007 In July 1999, he shot and killed a Pennsylvania man in an argument over an air mattress. In June 2004, someone in New York said hello to a woman Malave was interested in, and Malave killed that man in an argument. He also wounded 2 people in other petty arguments in the interim. He was mentioned once in 2005, then given a full airing in the summer of 2007, from which he was busted in Brooklyn, New York. He won't be eligible for parole until he's served at least 2 decades.
vs
Colvin "Twin" Preston Washington, #927, Apl 2, 2007 In January 2007, he and several others robbed a South Carolina apartment, held a family hostage, and got into a shootout. The target family's youngest child, a 2 year old girl, was killed, and 2 others were wounded. Cops quickly rounded up the other killers but Preston-Washington got away. An amw.com tipster busted him in Rosewood, South Carolina, and he sneered at the cameraman during his walkshot. When he was brought into court, he expressed absolutely no remorse. He was sentenced to life without parole.

The semifinals. I feel like it took a little too long to get here!
Jacer Medina, #980, Fbr 21, 2008 In January 1994, Eduardo Flores was driving drunk in Illinois with Medina in the passenger's seat. A man reported them to police and got them arrested for DUI. In April, they shot him to death in retaliation. A few days before October 2004, Eduardo Flores was picked up as an empty capture. In late February 2008, 13.8 years after the murder, an amw.com tipster busted Medina in Memphis, Tennessee. He's since been sentenced to 56 years in prison.
vs
James H Malave, #956, Ags 14, 2007 In July 1999, he shot and killed a Pennsylvania man in an argument over an air mattress. and
Jeremy "Slep" Dunn, Marceill Easterling, and Daquan "Cakemix" Stevens, #992/#993/#994, Apl 4, 2008 The Unknown Mamadou Barry Killers. In November 2005, an entrepeneur named Mamadou Barry had been tied up in a shower, some plastic was wrapped over his face, and he'd suffocated, and as he died his apartment was ransacked. The motive was eventually revealed to be a cheap form of corporate espionage, as revealed by some broken receipts found in a shoe storage house. In December 2006, the case was aired on AMW. In April 2008, tips had led to a gang called the International Robbing Crew, a gang so flagrant that even low-level criminals had complained about them. From the autumn of 2005 to the autumn of 2007, the other Robbing Crew members had also killed 7 other people. The Mamadou Barry killer suspects went to trial in April 2009, and Daquan was convicted of 2 counts of murder and sentenced to 3 life terms + 3/4 century.

It's down to 5 captures, so we have to vote to eliminate one of them.
Ronald Jerome Jones (#921) Jacer Medina (#980) James H Malave (#956) The Mamadou Berry Killers (#992/#993/#994) Colvin "Twin" Preston Washington (#927)

I'll vote for Ronald Jerome Jones and Alan J Horowitz. Jacer defeats Horowitz 1 to 3, and Byron Keith Perkins vs Ronald Jerome Jones ended in a draw, so now I have to flip a coin. If heads, the Kidney Couple. If tails, Ronald Jerome Jones. Aaand... TTT. Ronald Jerome Jones advances.

vs
Omar Emanuel "Mines" Maldonado, #963, Oct 9, 2007 A leftover fugitive named to many AMW fans' year-end most wanted lists of 2005. In February 2000, this UFK tagging crew member, 17 years old at the time, crashed an apartment party in San Diego, California, pointed a gun in a 17 year old girl's face, and shot her dead just to show off. The victim's older half-sister, a forensic scientist intern, took part in the investigation. He'd been moonlighting for a drug cartel until an amw.com visitor busted him in Tijuana, Mexico, outside a taxi cab. He was sentenced to 57 years in prison.
and
LaMont "Blake, L-Boogie" Davnielle Paris, #914, Dcb 9, 2006 A member of the Connecticut Boys assassin crew, hired by Giovanni "Chilli" Gayosso-Ruanova's drug business. In Detroit, Michigan, he had carried out about half a dozen hits. A minimum of 2 were dead, 1 was wounded, and 4 were unharmed. But most likely, he'd killed at least 5 people. He was busted in Belleville, Michigan, driving a female associate's car back to her house from the shop. The only high-ranking member of Ruanova's drug gang to be busted as a Direct Result capture, he was sentenced to 3/4 century in prison.
vs
Jeremy "Slep" Dunn, Marceill Easterling, and Daquan "Cakemix" Stevens, #992/#993/#994, Apl 4, 2008 The Unknown Mamadou Barry Killers. He was sentenced to life without parole.
vs
Calvin Allen Bennett, #912, Nvb 19, 2006 For almost a year, he'd been hiding out in an elderly Arkansas couple's barn. In October 2006, he robbed and brutally murdered them, tied their bodies to a rope connected to the hitch of a truck, and dragged the bodies into the woods, disconnected them, and left the bodies to decay. Somehow he managed to steal their truck and make his getaway. On Nvb 18, 2006, he was aired on America's Most Wanted, and John Walsh made him the newest member of his Dirty Dozen list. In the fastest capture of a Walsh DD12 fugitive, an 18 year old college girl in Rothschild, Virginia had been dating him, saw the show, and busted him in the morning of Nvb 19. He's now serving life in prison without parole.

Here's something scary; Jon Leiberman apparently had a heart attack back in July! He's okay now and is apparently on the road to recovery, but he hadn't been feeling well and when he went to the doctor, discovered an artery was 100% blocked. He also had a heart attack and had a stent put in. fox8.com/2014/07/22/stern-show-staffer-suffers-serious-health-scare/The scariest part? Jon's only 39! I'm glad to hear he's on the mend! Born in circa 1975 and already suffering from total blockage of an artery? How can I avoid that condition come 2030?

I'll vote for Anatoliy "Tolik" Valenko and my screen-namesake Calvin Allen Bennett. Twin defeats Tolik 3 to 1, and Bennett vs Lin-Wang ended in a 2 to 2 draw. I have to flip a coin. If heads, Calvin. If tails, Fu Lin. Aaand... THH! Calvin Allen Bennett advances!
LeaAnn Howard and Byron Keith Perkins, #935/#936, Apl 25, 2007 The Kidney Couple, and two of John Walsh's Top Ten Fugitives of 2006. Perkins became "The most hated man in America" in February 2006 for the way he escaped a Louisville, Kentucky prison: This convicted armed robber and drug trafficker pleaded for a temporary release from prison in order to donate a kidney to his ailing 16 year old son Destin. Instead, he fled with his girlfriend LeaAnn Howard, who was also wanted for orchestrating an attempt on her previous boyfriend's life. By the end of 2006, Destin had luckily found a donor. After being added to the US Marshals' 15 Most Wanted and John Walsh's Dirty Dozen, they were busted partying in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Perkins was soon sentenced to 42 years in prison.
vs
Ronald Jerome Jones, #921, Mrc 12, 2007 In August 1983, in Virginia, he suffered a knee injury and needed 5 Dollars for treatment. He falsely blamed his girlfriend for stealing the bill, and beat her to death. His accomplice found the bill on the floor of the hotel they were renting. 23 1/2 years later, he was busted, homeless on the streets of Greensboro, North Carolina, off a 15 Seconds of Shame airing. Since then, he got 4 decades in prison.
and
Alan J Horowitz, #940, May 22, 2007 An Ivy League graduate, child psychologist, ordained Orthodox Rabbi, and active NAMBLA member. From 1983 to 2006, he'd sexually assaulted at least 50 underage boys. Some of his victims were from families in Israel, and many more were his male patients. He traveled across 5 countries before his airing on the 15 Seconds of Shame, from which he was busted in India.
vs
Jacer Medina, #980, Fbr 21, 2008 In January 1994, Eduardo Flores was driving drunk in Illinois with Medina in the passenger's seat. A man reported them to police and got them arrested for DUI. Even when that almost-hurricane washed away all the forensic evidence, they managed to identify her, even if it DID take 35.2 years. I imagine the killer was born before 1955, which would work out to a minimum 6 decades old. There were no signs of rape, so he might've killed her in a fit of rage, or to cover up the fact that he stole from her, or perhaps even to eliminate a witness to another crime, anything except for his own pleasure. I doubt she became a victim of any serial killer because there were no known sex violations. If the killer's still alive and well, I figure the break in the case will be just big enough that he won't get away with it for much longer.

Davnielle and the Mamadou Killers advance.
He was sentenced to life without parole.
vs
Anatoliy "Tolik" Valenko, #968, Nvb 28, 2007 In November 1995, cops in Brooklyn believe he killed his two roommates, dismembered them with a buzz saw, and scattered the pieces throughout the East Coast's mountains and ocean scenery. Valenko and Vladimir Balachov were introduced in January of 1997 and profiled upwards of 5 times over 10.9 years. Tolik was busted in the Netherlands, the third Direct Result capture in Western Europe after James Stacy (#365, France) and Selim "Jake" Kelmendi (#540, Germany). In circa 2008, the courts declared him incompetent to stand trial, and are still trying to enable him to go to trial but it's been difficult. In 2010 or 2011, Vladimir Balachov may have got his charges dropped. By 2013, he may have been enabled to stand trial and sentenced to life.
and
Calvin Allen Bennett, #912, Nvb 19, 2006 For almost a year, he'd been hiding out in an elderly Arkansas couple's barn. In October 2006, he robbed and brutally murdered them, tied their bodies to a rope connected to the hitch of a truck, and dragged the bodies into the woods, disconnected them, and left the bodies to decay. In the fastest capture of a Walsh DD12 fugitive, an 18 year old college girl in Rothschild, Virginia had been dating him, saw the show, and busted him in the morning of Nvb 19. He's now serving life in prison without parole.
vs
Fu Lin Wang, #985, Mrc 16, 2008 A drunken, controlling wife beater known for threats against his ex-wife and her family. The abuse was so bad that he constantly got into legal trouble over the course of 1/2 decade. In December 1998, he killed his ex-wife and stepson in California as payback. The bullets missed 6 other people. After he was uploaded to amw.com, the media raised interest in the case, and cops acting off a tip sent through the website busted him in a Chicago Chinatown apartment in front of 3 other men. He's now serving life in prison.

Malave and Maldonado advance 4 to 0.
LaMont "Blake, L-Boogie" Davnielle Paris, #914, Dcb 9, 2006 A member of the Connecticut Boys assassin crew, hired by Giovanni "Chilli" Gayosso-Ruanova's drug business. vs
Kevin "Muggsy" Armstead, #986, Mrc 25, 2008 A convicted child molester and dealer of extra-strong narcotics in Baltimore. In March 2007, a good-natured handyman was repairing houses in a bad neighborhood, and when he got to a particularly run-down house, he disposed of a huge drug stash, out of principle. Armstead killed the man upon finding out. He was busted in east Decatur, Georgia, washing a car in an auto detail shop. He was sentenced to life plus 3 decades.
vs
Cavinaugh L "Papoose" Hughes, #911, Oct 19, 2006 In November 2005, he and 2 others invaded a home in Chicago, hoping to find a safe with 10 Grand. They killed a man, then Cavinaugh killed one of the accomplices to keep him from confessing. He was busted living with a woman in Three Rivers, Michigan and sentenced to life in prison.
vs
Jeremy "Slep" Dunn, Marceill Easterling, and Daquan "Cakemix" Stevens, #992/#993/#994, Apl 4, 2008 The Unknown Mamadou Barry Killers. In November 2005, an entrepeneur named Mamadou Barry had been tied up in a shower, some plastic was wrapped over his face, and he'd suffocated, and as he died his apartment was ransacked. I'll vote for Alan J Horowitz and Mikhail Drachev. Horowitz advances 2 to 3, and Medina advances 1 to 4.
Isaac Asusta, #905, Spt 4, 2006 In late January 2005, he shot and killed a couple he'd known for years over a drug debt. The murders took place in the small town of Ely, Nevada, and was notorious as the first ever double homicide in their history. After he bragged about his crimes, an AMW tipster looked up his My Story profile and busted him in Los Angeles, California. He's now serving 6 decades in prison.
vs
James H Malave, #956, Ags 14, 2007 In July 1999, he shot and killed a Pennsylvania man in an argument over an air mattress. In June 2004, someone in New York said hello to a woman Malave was interested in, and Malave killed that man in an argument. He also wounded 2 people in other petty arguments in the interim. He was mentioned once in 2005, then given a full airing in the summer of 2007, from which he was busted in Brooklyn, New York. He won't be eligible for parole until he's served at least 2 decades.

The victim's older half-sister, a forensic scientist intern, took part in the investigation. He'd been moonlighting for a drug cartel until an amw.com visitor busted him in Tijuana, Mexico, outside a taxi cab. He was sentenced to 57 years in prison.
vs
Dwayne Edward Lee, #983, Fbr 29, 2008 A teenage street hustler with a long criminal record. On September's Eve 2007, he shot a 15 year old boy to death in Miami-Dade, Florida because Lee thought the child was badmouthing Lee's family. After his 15 Seconds of Shame profile, tipsters busted this cheap-shot in McDonough, Georgia, and found out his sister had been sending him money in an attempt to keep him running. He was sentenced to 1/4 century in prison.
In the first match-up, Asusta may have been busted off an online My Story profile and gotten a longer sentence, but Malave's victims died for nothing, one over an air mattress, and one just for saying hello. I'll vote for Malave. Second, Maldonado and Lee were each wanted for shooting a teenage child to death, and for petty reasons. One to show off, and one over some insults. I'll have to flip a coin. If heads, Mines. If tails, Dwayne. Aaand... THH! I'll vote for Maldonado.

Netflix, eh? My use of Netflix is more in keeping with last decade. I use their One DVD Out At a Time plan, because I'm very selective about the films I watch (My Top 40 collections are only a fraction of everything Hollywood puts out each year. I won't watch just anything!). Ever since about '012, their focus has shifted to TV streaming. But I still favor the big screen over the small screen. Unfortunately, I have no TV shows to recommend. If you want films, I've got plenty of those to choose from!

The Kidney Couple defeats Kenneth John Freeman 3 to 2, and Ronald Jerome Jones defeats Bobby Jo Weatherton 5 to 0.
Richard Wesley Gibbs, #910, Oct 12, 2006 A disgraced Pennsylvania college professor. From 1987 to 2006, he sexually assaulted almost 50 underage boys across the US. He was forced to retire when the allegations came about, and despite his age, his retirement was considered early. On July 31 (Wizard's Night) 2006, he skipped on his trial. In late August 2006, AMW aired a special feature called "Criminals in the Classroom", about teachers and professors who sexually abuse children, in which Gibbs was given a short airing. He was busted working at a bar-and-grill in Bocas Del Toro, Panama, and extradited within the week. He was sentenced to 12 to 30 years in one prison, but other jurisdictions also want to incarcerate him, so he probably will never leave prison alive.
vs
Alan J Horowitz, #940, May 22, 2007 An Ivy League graduate, child psychologist, ordained Orthodox Rabbi, and active NAMBLA member. From 1983 to 2006, he'd sexually assaulted at least 50 underage boys. Some of his victims were from families in Israel, and many more were his male patients. He traveled across 5 countries before his airing on the 15 Seconds of Shame, from which he was busted in India.
and
Mikhail Drachev, #933, Apl 20, 2007 An enforcer for a steroid dealership. In December 2001, one of their former members had been arrested, and agreed to inform on them, hoping to cut his losses. Drachev and several other men savagely beat the informant while he was on the phone with an Arizona police detective, stabbed him, blew him up, and buried him under a pile of rocks. The informant crawled into a nearby river and drifted a short distance down before succumbing to his injuries. AMW aired the case at least 5 times, starting on September's Eve 2002. He was #7 on the beta version of Walsh's Top 10 Fugitives of 2002, and was named to many AMW fans' year-end most wanted of 2002 lists. In April 2007, an amw.com tipster led cops to Toronto, Canada, where he was busted before he could position a 100-foot climbing rope to flee. He was later convicted of his role in the murder and sentenced to 3 3/4 decades in prison.
vs
Jacer Medina, #980, Fbr 21, 2008 In January 1994, Eduardo Flores was driving drunk in Illinois with Medina in the passenger's seat. A man reported them to police and got them arrested for DUI. In April, they shot him to death in retaliation. A few days before October 2004, Eduardo Flores was picked up as an empty capture. In late February 2008, 13.8 years after the murder, an amw.com tipster busted Medina in Memphis, Tennessee. He's since been sentenced to 56 years in prison.

I regret keeping you all waiting, but now that award shows are on the backburner, and I got a slower day during my job placement enrollment endeavors, I can finally start the 10th century contest!
Perkins was soon sentenced to 42 years in prison.
vs
Kenneth John Freeman, #939, May 2, 2007 A former federal officer from Washington state on the US Marshals' 15 Most Wanted list. From September 1999 to January 2001, he continually raped his preteen daughter, produced child pornography, and distributed it online, to a particularly large audience. In March 2006, he fled his trial. His crimes earned him the dubious title "King of the Child Exploitation Suspects". After his introduction on the show, AMW tips busted him in Hong Kong, looking much skinnier and weaker than his former muscular self. He's now serving 1/2 century in prison, and his daughter has taken on the fight against child exploitation and child pornography. In September 2012, AMW joined the manhunt for child porn distributor Brett Bowyer, a popular high school counselor wanted as the last remaining trafficker of Freeman's child porn videos. In spring 2013, Bowyer was nabbed as an empty capture in Florida when he cut off an emergency vehicle.
and
Ronald Jerome Jones, #921, Mrc 12, 2007 In August 1983, in Virginia, he suffered a knee injury and needed 5 Dollars for treatment. Since then, he got 4 decades in prison.
vs
Bobby Jo Weatherton, #981, Fbr 24, 2008 In 1979, he burglarized a home in Louisiana, forcibly raped a woman, and served 1/4 century in prison. In late February 2007, he took another woman to a forest, beat and raped her, and may have intended to kill her. She ran for several miles through a forest to flee from him. The day after his introduction on AMW, he walked into a federal courthouse in Memphis, Tennessee and turned himself in, almost begging one officer to arrest him. He's now serving life in prison.
The first match-up is two cases on the US Marshals' 15 Most Wanted list of criminals who betrayed their own children in two different but about as hideous ways. But Perkins put other deadbeat dads to shame, was America's most hated man from the winter of '006 to the spring of '007, and his crimes were more violent on top of the prison escape. Second, Bobby Jo Weatherton may have wanted to sexually murder a woman, but Ronald Jerome Jones killed his girlfriend over a measly sum of FIVE missing dollars, and was busted after a whopping 23.5 years on the run off a simple 15 Seconds of Shame airing. I'll give the slight edge to Jones for his more impressive and surprising capture.

201X has been a barren decade for the S(beep)er Bowl so far, if you ask me. I'd heard that over the past 5 years or so (the first half of the decade), the commercials had been vastly inferior to those of decades past, and the 2014 S(beep)er Bowl kind of gave off the stench of "rigged". If there's 3 American subholidays that I care least about, they are S(beep)er Bowl Sunday, Valentine's Day, and Cinco de Mayo (which celebrates the Battle of Puebla, not Mexican Independence!)
