From The Charley Project:
Details of Disappearance
Lydia's family last saw her at her parents' Lexington, Kentucky home at 1:00 p.m. on October 26, 1997.
A neighbor saw her walking away from her boyfriend's house on Londonderry Road between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. She was evidently en route to her family's home on Rugby Road and was seen where Rugby Road intersects with Piccadilly Street. She has never been heard from again. Her family reported her missing several hours later.
Lydia was born six weeks premature and her twin sister died at birth. She has one younger brother. Because she had a history of leaving home without permission, even though she rarely left her neighborhood, for the first two years after her disappearance Lydia was considered a runaway.
Her case is now classified as an endangered missing person. The exact circumstances surrounding her disappearance are unclear and her case remains unsolved.
