Aaron Berkley Being Sought for 2010 South Nashville Murder
11/6/2019
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Homicide-Cold Case detectives have identified Aaron Berkley, 31, as the man responsible for a South Nashville murder nine years ago this month.
An indictment charging Berkley with first-degree murder is outstanding for the November 27, 2010, shooting death of Essex Issac Washington, 24, in the parking lot of Bavaria Apartments on Packard Drive. The renewed investigation, being led by Detective Steve Jolley, indicates that Washington and Berkley were acquaintances, and that the two were talking on the phone as Washington arrived at the apartment complex to meet up with Berkley. Just as Washington got out of the car, he was shot. Robbery is believed to have been the motive.
In the years since the murder, Berkley has been arrested for a variety of other offenses, including aggravated robbery in 2014. He was ultimately convicted and received a seven-year probated sentence. A felony probation warrant against Berkley is also outstanding.
Efforts to locate Berkley have been unsuccessful. Anyone seeing him or knowing his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.

Thoughts? A few technical items I wanted to mention:
1.I can't 100 percent confirm Berkley is still at large as of this posting date (February 10th, 2020). I am simply reasonably assuming that he still is since there have been no new articles about the manhunt since last November. If it turns out he has been captured and/or he is captured in the future, anyone is more than welcome to email our website contact form to let us know.
2. I put 2019 as the wanted year since although Essex Washington was sadly murdered in 2010, Berkley was not named as the alleged killer until last year.
