From myvalleynews.com:
AGUANGA – Authorities on Saturday publicly identified the man suspected of taking off on foot after he allegedly caused a fatal crash in Aguanga early Friday, and said they believe the man is planning to flee the country.
Antone Wayne Bayard, 23, of Anza, is likely in the Temecula/San Diego area, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers suspect he plans to escape to Mexico.
He’s wanted on suspicion of murder in connection with the crash as well as an unspecified altercation that injured two officers, the CHP said.
Bayard was allegedly behind the wheel of a 2011 Nissan Versa that slammed into the back of a 1986 Toyota pickup at 6:15 a.m. Friday on state Route 371 near Wilson Valley Road, according to the CHP.
After striking the pickup, the Nissan veered into the oncoming lane and struck another vehicle, a 2001 Mercedes-Benz. Both the Nissan and the Mercedes overturned and came to rest on opposite sides of the roadway.
The driver of the Mercedes, identified as a 63-year-old Joan Terlisner of Aguanga, was killed in the crash. The two occupants of the Toyota pickup, identified as Hemet residents, were uninjured.
The CHP did not say whether drugs or alcohol were suspected as factors in the crash.
Anyone with information on Bayard’s whereabouts to call CHP dispatch at 858-637-3800.[/b)
