From the Mississippi Clarion Ledger (clarionledger.com):
A young woman who was reported missing by her mother days before Christmas was shot multiple times, authorities say, and her boyfriend, 31-year-old Darion Hill, is being sought in connection to her death.
Claiborne County Sheriff Frank Davis said warrants have been issued for Hill, charging him with kidnapping and murder in the death of Quawanda Hicks, 21, of Claiborne County.
“We are looking everywhere for him,” Davis told the Vicksburg Post Friday, adding Hicks is believed to be driving a tan 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe with tag number CBA 4114.
Davis told local media outlets that Hicks died before her body was dumped in a ditch on the side of Willow Road near Port Gibson.
Her body was discovered about 3 p.m. Thursday by men riding four-wheelers and has been taken to the state crime lab for autopsy.
“If you was driving through with a car, you would have never seen her. It just so happens that those guys came through on those four-wheelers and were able to see her,” Davis told WLBT-TV.
The two had a history of domestic disputes, Davis said. The couple was last seen together on Dec. 19, and Hicks' mother had reported her missing on Monday.
Hill, described as "armed and dangerous," was scheduled to go on trial in January in another shooting, Davis told local media, though details of that case were not immediately available.
Anyone with information about Hill's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).
Thoughts? Based on local news reports, Hill was still at large at least as of December 30th, 2019. This is a very sad story and I hope for both Quwanda Hicks's memory and for the safety anyone else who may come in contact with Hill that he is apprehended soon.
