Wow incredibly enough it’s that time of year where we predict the next FBI Top Ten Capture.
This year the list has changed but not significantly, absent this year from last year are Lamont Stephenson and Greg Alyn Carlson both of whom were the only FBI Top Ten captures in 2019. Taking their places were Arnoldo Jimenez and Eugene Palmer, both of whom have been on the run since 2012.
After a very crazy decade of events on the Top Ten List (including the addition of Brad Bishop), the veteran trio of fugitives added during the 2000s will unfortunately advance into 2020, with Dreaded Family killer Robert Fisher emerging as the longest running fugitive on the current Ten Most Wanted, after the removal of Gerena, & Godwin within the last 10 years. While in the 2010s, Yaser Said holds the lead at 5 years amongst the fugitives added during this departing decade.
Okay so let’s break it down; with the removals of Semion Mogilevich, Glen Godwin, Victor Gerena, & Brad Bishop, we’ll see which one of the current FBI Top Ten fugitives will be the first to fall in 2020.
Honestly instead of making a summary of each fugitive one by one, I’ll just pretty much give a paragraph summary.
Robert Fisher, Alexis Flores, & Jason Derek Brown are the top 3 longest running fugitives on the Ten Most Wanted List, as for Fisher and Brown, it’s just a matter of them getting unlucky, either by getting pulled over in a random traffic stop or someone has a great hawk eye and submits the right tip. As for Flores, I’m not sure where his case will go in 2020, Honduras isn’t as cooperative when it comes to extradition requests but so we’ll see.
Yaser Said has become the longest running fugitive added during the 2010s, with Yaser currently in his 60s and the possibility of him Egypt grows, it’s likely he’ll go down the same way Ravelo did which is pretty much not going to be quickly, but eventually even if it takes 5 years, 8 years or 10 years, but at some point Yaser will be taken in. Santiago Mederos has been on the run for nearly 10 years for a crime committed at the beginning of the decade, and has been on the top ten list for only 2 years which beats the average set by some top tenners at little over 1 year, with the drug war raging in Mexico guys like Mederos will be very difficult to locate.
Arnoldo Jimenez and Eugene Palmer are the most recent Top Ten fugitives to make the list, but both fugitives have been on the run for over 7 years now, as well as significant challenges in apprehending them. Jimenez is believed to be in Tamaulipas state in Mexico which is as bad as it gets, getting him will prove difficult as Mexican security forces have limited resources in that state. Eugene Palmer managed to take the record for oldest person on the list from Brad Bishop whose addition shocked us, with Palmer being the latest fugitive to be added still at large at 80 years old, it could either go 2 ways, he’s found alive hiding with someone harboring him, or he’s deceased somewhere in Harriman state park, where he was last seen.
Bhadreshkumar Patel, & Alejandro Castillo, at this point are the most recent fugitives on the Ten Most Wanted List, having been on the run since 2015 & 2016 respectively and are the other 2 fugitives along with Mederos who were added in 2017. Patel has unfortunately managed to prove us wrong as he has managed to stay on the list for nearly 3 years, but that’s possibly thanks and part to him possibly hiding out in India. While Alex Castillo, one of the youngest fugitives added to the list, has managed to prove us wrong because he’s hiding in Mexico with someone aiding him on the run. It’s shocking Patel and Castillo have been on the Ten Most Wanted list longer than most fugitives added in the 2010s.
So buckle down everyone and vote which fugitive will be captured in 2020.
