Robert Joseph Moody defeats Martin Rasim Bulichi 3 to 1, and David Connell Cox defeats John Wesley Amunson 0 to 4
James Henry Hampton, #237, Dcb 20, 1992 In August 1992, he broke into a home in Missouri and tied up a couple in a failed extortion plot. He then kidnapped and murdered the woman. He killed another woman about a month later in September 1992. He was busted in West Orange, New Jersey within 5 months of the murders. He shot himself in the head but survived, only to be condemned to death. He was executed in March 2000.
vs
Jesus Angel Delgado, #238, Dcb 23, 1992 A former career criminal. In late August 1990, he stabbed a couple to death in Florida because the dry cleaning business they sold him had faulty machinery. He was busted in Miami, and to this day he sits on death row.
and
James Henry Pauley, #243, Jnr 25, 1993 His last wife knew him as a sadist who fantasized about torturing women. He murdered a woman in a hotel and raped a woman during an unrelated party spree. After his AMW airing, he turned himself in in Arizona.
vs
Donald Ray Gideon, #257, Jly 17, 1993 A former youthful offender, who made a failed attempt to rape a woman back when he was 12 years old. In 1982, he raped another woman. In June 1993, he raped 2 more women, then sexually murdered one last victim. After his airing on AMW, he surrendered in Volusia County, Florida.
First, I'll vote for James Henry Hampton for his repeated pattern of offences and that it only took 7 1/2 years to execute him. Second, because of how little I know about James Henry Pauley's case, I'll vote for Donald Ray Gideon. Gideon had been raping women since he was a child anyway!

James Henry Hampton and Donald Ray Gideon shut out their opponents 4 to 0. Arigato, Scumhunter! I will indeed wait until the 3rd century bracket is over before posting the 4th century brackets!
Keith Terris Caldwell, #244, Mrc 5, 1993 His first huge offence was raping a woman in 1985. During parole, he kidnapped and murdered his pregnant cousin in October 1992. In the last month before his capture, he was suspected of killing 2 policemen in Compton. After seeing himself on America's Most Wanted, he called his mother and surrendered to a newsman in California.
vs
Armando "Scarface" Garcia, Toribio Dagoberto Garcia, and Victor Zapata, #279/#280/#282, Jnr 18, 1994/Jnr 26, 1994 The last of the corrupt police crew and drug racketeers The Miami River Cops. In July 1985, Armando "Scarface" Garcia stormed 2 ships with cocaine aboard. Three guards dove into the river and drowned, for which Scarface was charged with 3 counts of murder. Over the next 2 years, Scarface and Toribio conspired to kill government witnesses, but the contract hit plot failed. Scarface and Toribio were busted in Cali, Columbia 5 years after Scarface was named to the FBI's Ten Most Wanted. Less than a week later, Victor Zapata surrendered in Puerto Rico.
and
Juannito A "JC Jiles" Edwards, #240, Jnr 25, 1993 The first Unknown homicide solved by AMW. In February 1990, a mysterious man, previously known only as "JC Jiles", answered a Mercedes Benz classified ad, in the pretense of taking it for a test drive. Instead, he kidnapped, robbed, and fatally shot the seller. In February 1991, he killed a woman in another robbery. At the time AMW aired his case, all they had was a sketch considered "awful" in one America's Most Wanted related book, and the alias "JC Jiles". An AMW tipster knew his real name, Juannito Edwards, and busted him in Newport News, Virginia.
vs
Gerald DeLane Murray, #269, Spt 9, 1993 In September 1990, he robbed, tortured, and sexually murdered a woman in Florida by strangling her with a power cord. He escaped from a prison in November 1992 before they could indict him. He was busted in Las Vegas, Nevada, with 2 fake ID cards, and was condemned to death. His sentence had been commuted back and forth between life with no parole and death row twice in the following decade, but he's on death row to stay.
These are really hard to decide upon! Caldwell was a rapist and parole violator who graduated to as many as 4 murders, 2 of the victims were cops in Compton, one victim was his cousin, and one victim was her unborn baby. The Miami River Cops were a trio of corrupt cops (and former cops are usually hard for AMW to bust!), they were busted far outside North America's big 3 nations, and Armando was on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list. Juannito A Edwards killed at least 2 people, and may have killed a 3rd victim that I never mentioned. Plus the tipster didn't even need a good composite sketch to bust him! DeLane-Murray committed one of the most painful sex homicides AMW has ever solved, and his punishment wavered between capital and semicapital punishment before Florida settled upon death row. More convincing arguments will be needed to break these ties, and I'll reserve my votes until then.

Before I get to my votes, I did some research on the Keith Caldwell case and figured out who was eventually convicted and sentenced to death for the officers murders based on a 1995 article. That person was Regis Deon Thomas. What officers actually did was announce they were looking for a suspect for the murders of the officers and another unrelated crime. That resulted in the arrests of five people who were eventually convicted on the unrelated crimes, including Keith Caldwell. articles.latimes.com/1995-05-18/local/me-3035_1_death-penalty/2So now that I know that Keith Caldwell did not kill the Compton police officers, my vote in the first match-up goes to the Miami River Cops, since they were corrupt cops and two of them became the only fugitives that AMW caught in Colombia. For the second match-up, I vote for "JC Jiles" since his case was extremely difficult to solve, but AMW managed to pull it off anyway, and he had killed at least two people.

First vote goes to Miami river cops for the degree of capture difficulty. It's hard enough to catch a fugitive who used to be a police officer let alone three in places outside the continental U.S.!
Second vote is the same reason for J.C. Giles Just a name and busted.
The matchup are somewhat even but I consider my votes the more impressive takedowns!

I'll vote for Armando "Scarface" Garcia and Juannito A Edwards, and they defeat Caldwell and DeLane-Murray.
William White Graham, #247, Apl 14, 1993 In Oct 1972, he joined forces with an old friend of his from high school for a bank heist plot. It went haywire, and from the bank to the airplane he boarded to flee, he killed 3 people and wounded 2. The fugitives spent most of the next 2 decades in and around Cuba. One by one, the conspirators fell, until Graham surrendered in Washington, DC under mounting pressure from AMW. At 20.5 years, it set a record for oldest case AMW had ever solved at the time. To this day, it's the oldest triple homicide AMW has ever solved.
vs
George Hardebeck, #271, Oct 26, 1993 In August 1993, he shot up his family on a Ripley, Indiana farm after a heated argument. He killed his mother, two of his brothers, his sister, and his sister's husband for a total of 5 dead. 2 to 2 1/2 months later, he was flushed out of a barn in Kentucky in which he hid.
and
Edward Thomas James, #267, Oct 6, 1993 In Florida, he got into an argument with another family because he thought they were exploiting a man that he met. When it boiled over, he beat the family's youngest child to death, raped her corpse, tied up their older daughter, left her in the bathroom, and stabbed the children's grandmother to death. He was busted in an unemployment office in Bakersfield, California. He was later convicted and is now on death row in Florida.
vs
Cesar Barone, #249, April 20, 1993 From April 1991 to January 1993, he sexually murdered 4 women in Oregon. He may have sexually murdered a 5th victim, an elderly former neighbor, in Florida. He was busted in Oregon, the same state where he committed most of his crimes. He was condemned to death, but in December 2009 he died of natural causes.
These are arguably the hardest to decide upon.
First, William White Graham had been on the run for over 2 decades before he was busted. Out of all the AMW captures that made it to 2 decades at large, Graham was the only one to kill 3 people. George Hardebeck killed 5 people, all of them in his own family, with far less provocation than would warrant him even producing the gun in the first place.
Second, Edward Thomas James committed 2 sexually motivated murders after tensions between the family boiled over, and one of the victims was a child under 10. John Walsh regarded it as one of the most sickening cases he ever took on, and made a point of not giving a minute until he was caught. Cesar Barone committed 4, perhaps 5 sexual murders, in about 2 years, and was a prolific serial killer by the standards of AMW's capture roster. Both were condemned to death. James is still alive, but Barone has succumbed to natural causes.
I'll reserve my votes pending further arguments yet again!

Wow tough;. First vote goes to Hardebeck though for being a family annihilator. If I recall correctly, he very nearly defeated Dennis Skillicorn who wound up as one of the two finalists in the best capture overall contest. If he can do that, he can beat Graham!
Second vote goes to Eddie James. Both are equal but I give the edge to him for the fact it impacted John Walsh enough to write about it in his book No Mercy. Not to mention, I remember in the book they caught him in California in a pretty cool way. Walsh took the case so personally he decided to air him soon after his first. AMW was filming in California the next week. California wasn't really considered a possible location but they used some random connection (I think it was he lived there briefly but can't recall for certain) to justify showing him right away again. And sure enough the woman in the unemployment office noticed him.

Really, really hard match-ups as all of these fugitives are really bad people. I'm going to vote the same as danwind this time due to their causality counts (and the fact that Cesar Barone was one of the few serial killers ever caught by AMW).

I'll vote for George Hardebeck for his higher death toll and for targeting his family, and for serial killer Cesar Barone. They advance 1 to 3. Now we're halfway through the 3rd century bracket!
Kenneth Norman Lovci, #245, Mrc 20, 1993 A former reserve cop. He molested a 10 year old boy in Rollingwood, Texas. An AMW tipster in Salt Lake City, Utah, recognized him as the new replacement for a murdered restaurant cook whose killer was profiled on the same broadcast, and thus AMW busted him. The previous cook's killer was shortly nabbed as an empty capture.
vs
Norman "King Curly" Ackison, #201, Apl 15, 1992 In Ohio, he repeatedly raped his 5 year old daughter and at least 20 of her playmates, nearly all under age 8. He surrendered in Columbus, Ohio after seeing himself on AMW. He was released within 2 decades, but he got arrested for kidnapping a woman in April 2011.
and
Jeanne Hayes Siffin Rode and Donald Anthony Durant, #293/#294, Dcb 17/Dcb 16, 1993 In 1972, Durant shot a Cleveland, Ohio businessman to death in a failed robbery. He was implicated in 1983. For the following decade, he committed several burglaries and thefts in Nevada. Siffin-Rode failed to appear in court for carrying a concealed weapon, and helped Durant escape more than 10 police agencies. They were busted about 24 hours apart in Tucson, Arizona.
vs
Jeffrey Linn Boston, #216, Jly 27, 1992 His father died in early April 1977, and the will said that the mother would inherit the money unless she died within 90 days later. Their son, Jeffrey Linn Boston, saw a cold-hearted opportunity to claim the money for himself when the last of the 90 days coincided with the Fourth of July. It was then that he gathered 3 accomplices to shoot her to death with the pistol blasts "camouflaging" with the firework booms. Police quickly rounded up the accomplices, but Boston got away. That was until 15 years later, when he was busted in Florida.
Though Lovci happened to get hired to replace the victim of an unrelated fugitive aired on the same AMW broadcast, King Curly had younger victims, raped dozens of children, and was a bigger threat to society. Second, even though Jeffrey Linn Boston took advantage of a 50,000+ to 1 odds coincidence, Donald Anthony Durant got away with the murder for 21 years, much longer than Boston's 15 years, and evaded about a dozen police agencies with the help of a female criminaless.

I also vote for Durant and Rode, however.
