Welcome, America's Most Wanted fanatics and Armchair Internet Sleuths, to the Twelve Centures of Captures Bracket Contest! This is a contest to decide the best capture from every 100-entry window of the capture roster... besides the extremely obvious ones. For example, Episode 1 will see the First Century of Captures competing for Best Capture besides David James Roberts and John Emil List, which would make it too predictable. What I'll do is handpick the other 32 best captures from the roster and seed the brackets accordingly. As with the 1200 Milestone Capture Contest, vote for the capture you liked better, whether you thought the fugitive was more sinister, or whether the takedown was more impressive, or even historic firsts.
Best Capture Before #100, besides David James Roberts or John Emil List:

Summer is usually the busiest time of the year for me at work and I also expect to be pretty busy trying to keep up with The Hunt. I will do my best to vote though!

Happy Half-Year's Day!
Nobody wanted to petition to get a fugitive replaced? I guess I'll start the 1st match.
Teddy Unterreiner, #57, Jly 9, 1989 A Bay Area, California pedophile. He would volunteer as a student's tutor for SouthEast Asian boys, then molest them. There were at least 20 victims. His arrest warrant was issued in June 1988, but he fled. He was already in jail in Vancouver, Canada, for molesting a 10 year old Asian boy when an AMW tipster led law enforcement to him. He's the earliest fugitive in the capture roster that we know of who was busted serving time in another prison on newer charges.
vs
Kelly "Sunshine" Loyd, #58, Jly 10, 1989 Her husband and she managed a Columbia, South Carolina brothel network that specialized in teen girls. Their signature tactic was convincing their victims to act as young as possible. The husband was arrested but Kelly fled. She was busted in the town of Hartsville, South Carolina.
and
Kevin Kelly and Kenneth Shannon, #19/#20, Ags 15, 1988 Over a few decades, the Westies gang had operated in NYC. These two were the last two alphas, the two most active racketeers from 1985 to 1988. They were wanted for extortion, loansharking, and murder (1 dead, 1 wounded). After they saw themselves on America's Most Wanted, and once they were sun tanned and well rested, they surrendered to FBI agents in a Manhattan, New York attorney's office.
vs
David William Polson, #70, Spt 20, 1989 On Christmas Day 1986, he murdered his live-in girlfriend. In January 1987, the body was found in Nevada. AMW tips led cops to Los Banos, California, but he shot himself to death before FBI agents could take him into custody. He's the earliest capture we know about who killed themselves just before they could be arrested.
My votes go to Teddy Unterreiner and the Westies higher-ups. Unterreiner molested dozens of young children and was already in prison in Canada when tipsters identified him. The Westies were infamous extortionists also charged with murder, and I badly fear organized crime alphas.

I trusted your judgment when it came to these fugitives 912th. So I'm perfectly fine with who's there.
Anyway I vote the same as 912th on this one.

Teddy Unterreiner and the Westies win the 1st round by shut-out.
Now, some early captures of fugitive couples!
Kirkton Moore and Raylene Brooks, #28/#29, Oct 27/Oct 28, 1988 In September 1988, Kirkton committed a drive-by shooting that wounded 3 people, with Raylene (born in circa 1971) as the getaway driver. A few minutes after the drive-by, he killed a police officer with an assault rifle. Just over a month after the 4 casualties, Kirkton and Raylene surrendered at a TV newsman's station in Hollywood, California. Kirkton was sentenced to 2 life terms with no parole. Raylene got 1/4 century to life, but rumors have been spreading of public desire for them to release Raylene, because she was still under 18 at the time of the shootings, and was not the triggerman.
vs
Leroy and Kathleen Chasson, #71/#72, Spt 22, 1989 During a drug deal discussion, Leroy stabbed a man to death. In 1982, his wife Kathleen helped him escape a hospital. AMW tips led cops to Colorado, where a man posed as a commoner. When the man identified himself as a police officer, Leroy opened fire, only to end up dead in the shootout. That night, Kathleen saw on the news that Leroy was dead, and surrendered.
and
Ronald Jenkins and Bridgett Green, #14/#15, Jly 1, 1988 In January 1988, they went on a shoplifting spree in Georgia. It hit a breaking point when Jenkins stabbed a department store security guard to death in Atlanta. They were busted together in Missouri, becoming the first couple busted together in the capture roster.
vs
William and Rebecca Hewlett, #35/#36, Dcb 19, 1988 William was a bank robber and parole violator. After he fled, he graduated into a serial rapist. Both were persons of interest in the murder of a woman last seen with them in Tennessee. For these crimes, William Hewlett was added to the US Marshal's 15 Most Wanted list. They were busted in Mississippi.
These are a little harder. Leroy Chasson was killed in a shootout, then Kathleen turned herself in after seeing the report on local news. On the other hand, Kirkton Moore had a higher casualty toll, including a police officer, and he used an assault rifle. Jenkins and Green were a historic first, but William Hewlett was a multi-victim sex offender on the US Marshal's 15 Most Wanted list.
I think I better reserve my votes until a more convincing argument is made, but right now I'm leaning more towards Kirkton, Raylene and the Hewletts.

I vote the same as 912th's leanings. (Kirkton, Raylene and the Hewletts) Although the second matchup was a much tougher decision for me.
The first had a higher toll of people shot and/or killed including an officer, proving a dangerous crime spree, and the second both were bad but the Hewletts were on the USMS Top 15 list and were a much more notorious capture with their re-enactment even being on YouTube.

P.S. For expedition purposes, I've stickied this page so it appears on top and people will notice when a new round happens. This way when The Hunt goes on their capture spree, this thread won't get lost in the shuffle and buried under all the new captures!

For the first match-up I easily voted for Kirkton and Raylene. For the second, I went for the Hewlett's.
Btw, does anyone know if the Hewlett's were ever charged in the Tennessee murder?

Kirkton, Raylene, and the Hewletts advance.
Now, two cop killers turned prison escapees and two double murderers
James Ray Renton, #22, Spt 6, 1988 An Arkansas cop killer on the US Marshals' 15 Most Wanted list. He had escaped from several prisons starting in 1985. During a jailbreak in July 1988, he escaped a maximum security prison. He was busted in Austin, Texas, sleeping at night in a Salvation Army shelter barracks. He's now serving life without parole.
vs
Wilson Lee "Sonny" Brook, #68, Spt 13, 1989 In 1962, he killed a Wisconsin cop. In 1976, he was paroled, then violated it by committing robbery and burglary. In September 1988, he escaped a maximum security prison. He was busted in Nevada.
and
Lewis Wesley Barnes, #26, Spt 27, 1988 He was arrested in Marion County, Florida for the murders of 2 antique dealers. In April 1988, he escaped while awaiting trial. He was busted in Texas.
vs
Rudy Blanusa, #39, Jnr 23, 1989 In October 1986, 2 brothers in Modesto, California accused Blanusa of robbing their house. He abducted the brothers and shot them dead. He was busted in Burnaby, Vancouver, Canada, working for a scaffolding company. He was sentenced to 35 years to life.
These ones are harder. Renton was on the US Marshal's 15 Most Wanted list, and got semicapital punishment. Brook's original crime was an old murder of a police officer. I'm leaning towards Renton.
The second one is also hard. Barnes was also a prison escapee, but I don't know what the verdict was in the antique dealers' murders. Rudy Blanusa got a somewhat light sentence considering he killed multiple people just because they accused him of robbing their house. I'm leaning towards Blanusa.

I'm voting for Renton and Blanusa as well.
Also, I checked and there doesn't seem to be a record of Lewis Wesley Barnes in the Florida Department Of Corrections. Not sure why he isn't there.

My first vote's for Renton for the fact that he was on the US Marshal's 15 most wanted list. I'll also vote for Blanusa since he also kidnapped his victims and more than likely robbed them before the murders.
