(Above photo credit: wsaz.com) From wsaz.com: FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A man died Thursday night near Oak Hill from an apparent gunshot wound, and a man is wanted for questioning in connection with the incident, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department said. It happened just after 5 p.m. along Gatewood Road near Oak Hill. Deputies say it was initially believed that the shooting was accidental, but was later determined not to be. Investigators are looking for Robert Jeffries, 49 for questioning. He is believed to have left on foot and was reportedly wearing a camouflage jacket. Anyone with information about Jeffries or the incident is asked to call the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department or their local 911 agency.www.wsaz.com/content/news/Man-dead-in-apparent-shooting-in-Fayette-County-566161191.htmlThoughts? Based on local news reports, Jeffries was still at large at least as of December 12th, 2019. So far at least the victim is yet to be identified. This is a bit unsual in we don't see too many fugitive murder cases out of West Virginia (although to be fair it shod be stressed the article says Jeffries is only wanted for questioning at the moment. Even though nine times out of ten, the person wanted for questioning is the person ultimately arrested, and Jeffries running from the scene in camoflauge raises my eyebrows, I want to be technical because of that rare one time out of ten).
