Gregory Pictou is wanted by the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) for the murder of John Gleason.
On Feb 21, 1981, an utility worker found the decaying body of John Gleason in the basement of an Ottawa building. The 25-year old had been wrapped in bedsheets, buried in a sleeping bag and covered with a pile of carpets. His throat had been slit and he had been stabbed over 50 times. Authorities identified Gleason's killers as Clifton Paul and Gregory Pictou and determined both had fled to the United States. 12 days after Gleason's body was found, Paul was arrested in Boston. He was later convicted of manslaughter and was released in 1991. Ironically, Paul would later be stabbed to death while working at a Maine blueberry field. Pictou has never been arrested. Paul had told his brother that Pictou had bragged about committing another murder before the death of Gleason. He was last seen in New York.
Thoughts? Paul's brother claimed that a cousin saw Gregory Pictou working as a carpenter in Upstate New York sometime between 1998-2008. He also speaks fluent Spanish and authorities think he could blend in like say a Puerto Rican. John Gleason's death was truly horrific and Pictou needs to finally be located and brought to justice. However, nothing online says why Gleason was murdered in the first place so I'm curious if authorities know the motive.
