 OKLAHOMA CITY - The U.S. Marshals Service is now offering a $2,500 reward for new information in a southeast Oklahoma City rape and murder case. Police have been searching for 30-year-old Christopher Whitfield, also known as Christopher Singer. He is accused of killing an unborn child and threatening to shoot an 8-year-old. Police say he's also accused of holding two young children hostage, while he raped and abused their mother in his home on 1135 N.E. 20th in southeast Oklahoma City. According to court documents filed on June 17, Whitfield forced the ex-girlfriend and her two children, ages eight and three, into his home and held them hostage for three days. The arrest warrant states Whitfield "placed a large older television in front of the door so the children could not leave." It states Whitfield also pulled a pistol on the 8-year-old little boy and put the pistol to the boy's head. He told the child that if he tried to escape, he would kill him. Whitfield reportedly forced the boy's mother into a back bedroom where he beat and raped her repeatedly using his fists, shoes and a belt. The mother was able to escape at one point, but she only ran about half a block before she was recaptured and dragged back into the house. Court documents revealed, the young woman was beaten so badly she was almost unrecognizable to her family. She was able to escape the night of June 13 after Whitfield left the home in her Grey Chevy Impala.

Also, although it's probably obvious, since the article only implied, his ex-girlfriend was pregnant and the unborn child died as a result of the attack and rape. This was a no-brainer to add as a breaking news story to the site today. What a horrible case...

2009 AMW fugitive Alfonso James Whitfield shared a surname and was also wanted for wounding his pregnant ex-girlfriend and killing her unborn child.
For threats to murder a child under 10, threats to murder a child 3 and under, attempted sexual murder, and sexual murder of an unborn child, I bet Whitfield will get several life sentences if he's convicted.

I thought about the irony of him having the same last name as well, although tip-wise, it should be stressed he also goes by Christopher Singer.
Oklahoma has the death penalty (despite a controversy over a "botched" execution) and according to one of those articles, Whitfield may be eligible for it if and when he's captured.

If convicted I feel there's a good chance that an Oklahoma court will sentence Whitfield to death.
Slightly off topic, but if Whitfield remains at large until at least mid-July (hopefully that's not case however), then he really needs to be featured as at least some type of breaking news feature on The Hunt. I hope the break-four tease airings return to The Hunt since Lifetime didn't air them, Whitfield would be a perfect case for one in the first month of The Hunt.

Went researching this case again and found that he's no longer featured on the Oklahoma City Crimestoppers website listing (I believe he was at one point). This makes me wonder if he has since been captured.

Ok, NOW Whitfield has been captured! Early this morning, he was booked into an Oklahoma County jail. Also, check out his mug shot in the article.
