From mlive.com:
MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI – A federal fugitive warrant for a Muskegon Heights homicide suspect is being sought by the FBI.
The Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office reached out to the FBI for help in apprehending Darese Dukur Sanders, 25, who is a suspect in the June homicide of 18-year-old Derek Wade Peterson II.
The FBI filed a complaint in U.S. District Court on Oct. 22 seeking a federal warrant against Sanders for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
It’s believed that Sanders has fled Michigan, possibly to Georgia where his mother and aunt live, according to the complaint.
The prosecutor’s office has come to that conclusion based on surveillance of Sanders’ home and associates as well as information provided by “reliable” sources, the complaint states.
An open murder warrant was issued against Sanders on Oct. 11 for the death of Peterson, who was shot in the head as he sat in his car June 5 at the corner of Sixth Street and Broadway Avenue in Muskegon Heights, police said earlier.
Sanders’ attorney had contact with him and was told Sanders planned to turn himself in last week, according to the complaint. After he failed to do so, law enforcement authorities earlier this week issued a public request for information about Sanders’ whereabouts. He is last known to reside on Manz Street in the city of Muskegon.
Sanders was arraigned on June 19 with assault with intent to murder in the Peterson case. However, that charge was dismissed by the prosecutor’s office on July 11, court records show.
Also facing an open murder charge for Peterson’s death is Rodney Amos Neal, 30, of Muskegon Heights. He was charged on June 7 and is awaiting a preliminary exam in Muskegon County District Court.
Sanders was incarcerated for more than 3 ½ years as the result of fleeing police convictions, and was released from prison two weeks before the homicide, according to Michigan Department of Corrections records. He also has convictions for drug dealing, according to MDOC.
Anyone who sees Sanders or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call 911.

Thoughts? As of this posting date (November 14th, 2019), a search of Muskegon County's online criminal court records still show the case status against Sanders as charges pending and no movement since the Octobee 11th, 2019 court filings beginning the manhunt. The search felt a bit cumbersome since there a lot of records for Sanders so look up district court and find case number 19205324FY-FY: micourt.courts.michigan.gov/CaseSearch/Case/D60/Detail?searchText=Darese+Sanders&caseId=19205324FY&courtType=D&courtNumber=600&locationNumber=0&courtSystem=1&partyTypeNumber=D01&caseType=FY&petitionNumber=null
Articles don't state any alleged motive but 18-years old is way too young to die and Derek Patterson had his whole life ahead of him. Sanders is allegedly one of the men responsible, so it's important to catch him.
Also a word of advice to Sanders. You should have done the right thing and surrendered like your lawyer expected. You're now on the AMW Fans website and it's only a matter of time before someone viewing this website recognizes you and calls the police on their own to catch you, so you may as well reconsider your decision to not turn yourself in.
