 (Above photo credit: fbi.gov) On the morning of January 28, 2012, skeletal remains were located at a trailer park on Hurst Street in Opelika, Alabama, after residents observed a skull on the premises. It was later determined that the remains were believed to be those of a young African American girl, 4 to 7 years of age. The child was likely abused and malnourished, and the cause of death was ruled to be probable homicide. A forensic reconstruction of the girl's appearance was done based on the skeletal remains and is shown above. Law enforcement officials are now seeking the public's assistance with the identification of the girl. --- Thoughts? This is another unsolved case (non-fugitive) I found on the FBI website and felt it should have a thread here. This girl really needs to be identified so she can get a proper burial, especially since she was most likely murdered. Sounds like the Baby Bones case all over again. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if her parents killed her based on how she was said to be malnourished. Not sure what to speculate on but if that case can be solved, so can this one.

Article from last month regarding what soon will be the sadly 10-year anniversary of this case. Also not sure if this new info or not but in 2016, someone at a nearby church recognized who Opelika Jane Doe was. According to Columbus Ga WTVM this deceased child has been identified as Amore Jovaeh Wiggins her accused killers have been identified as Opelika Native and Navy Veteran Lamar Vickerstaff Jr he has been stationed in the navy in places such as Norfolk Virginia Honolulu Hawaii and Jacksonville Florida he has been charged with 1st degree murder and His wife Ruth Vickerstaff has been charged with failure to report a child missing though more charges are likely the Biological mother is alive in Maryland and wasnt involved as she was what led them to the killers after being identified as she had lost custody of her daughter and she was placed in the custody of these scumbags the murder was thought to occur between 2010 and 2011 www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/opelika-police-holds-press-conference-on-2012-jane-doe-murder-case/ar-AA16wrLy |

Also guys I want to point out that there is now a Wikipedia page for this case vickerstaff allegedly confessed to the murder and requested that Ruth not be charged Lamar faces either life on prison or being sent to death row while Ruth is facing up to 10 years in prison which I think is fitting for the fact they alleged killed a defenseless child and I hope they are haunted everyday by there depraved cowardly actions
