I read and heard about the ambush of 9 family members of a Mormon community in Mexico who were American and that they were savagely slaughtered by gunmen of either the Sinaloa or Juarez cartel(s). How many of you out there are just like me, those who believe that Mexico is a complete lost cause? ?? I mean I don't know or if any of you can/will understand the concept of these sayings that I have...... BLANK HOPE or EMPTY HOPE I mean I just can't believe how dumb and stupid Mexico's president is, HUGS NOT BULLETS!!!!!! I mean his optimism is so full of itself that it's blinding himself to the point that he says "WE DON'T WANT WAR", that's what he said when El Chapo's son was released so quickly , I MEAN HELLO!!!!!! THERE'S ALREADY WAR GOING ON IN MEXICO, YOU THINK THAT JUST DENYING IT WILL MAKE IT GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with President Trump that we should strike back at the cartels, I mean these incidents where Americans are murdered over foreign soil in Mexico is echoing similarly to OPERATION GOLDEN ROD that the FBI did to shut up and curb terrorism.

Fugitivehunter666,
While it is sad what goes on in Mexico please understand our President is a race baiter and take everything he says with a grain of salt. He might be right about cartels but he's saying it to appeal to his racist base of supporters. He wants everyone afraid of Mexico to justify hatred of brown people who migrate to the U.S.
Sometimes he'll say things about crime and Mexico true or technically true but he has an ulterior motive.
A lot of the problem is politics and not legalizing softer drugs like marijuana which would put a significant dent in cartels' ability to do business.
You're entitled to your opinions, and more than welcome to share them. Nothing wrong with that, just for the most part your political opinions such as the death penalty might not jibe with other posters here but I'll always respect and defend your right to say them.

With all do respect I don't think that there is a softer drug like marijuana, I mean come on marijuana is supplied by the cartels in the first place. Plus I don't know about you but I couldn't help but also notice that there's a ton of related names in Mexico, I mean even though both last names match I can't help but figure out if it's truly racism or more of on a confusing multiple meaning word problem on that of a 'Deliverance' scale. The 'scale' is this...... You know how there are multiple meaning words? Like lead and lead, one means to lead a group of people or the metal that bullets are made out of...... Well I couldn't help but notice that the name of Mexico's top security enforcer rings/echoes erriely familiar that to a drug lord on the DEA's Most Wanted List. Plus the fact on avocados, I read that avocado farms and orchards in Mexico are taking up arms and the press is saying things like, if you buy avacados then you're actually supporting the cartels, cause avacados are green gold to the fact that since many of them are grown in Mexico well it would make sense that they are Green Gold because avacados are used after all to hide drugs in and underneath them on trucks and planes and cars.

Marijuana is grown and cultivated by farmers. The cartel didn't invent it like a menu item at Red Lobster. It is no more dangerous than alcohol and numerous lives are lost and minorities being jailed and given lengthy sentences just for posession when there are worse crimes out there.
As for the rest of your reply, I don't have amy disagreements and/or find those interesting insights.

Question: If marijuana is cultivated by farmers then just what exactly is it that the cartels do or spice up the weed? Question #2: I heard that Poppy Seeds are used to make cocaine, does that mean that poppy seeds are considered part of the problem too? Question #3: What Agriculture is most common/tainted by the cartels, weed or poppy seeds? Question #4: Is it at all possible that the cartels are shaking down avacado, weed, and poppy seed farmers in exchange for protection or are the farmers more threatend to give up their crops or risk being plundered and tortured?

I don't know if the cartels "spice" up the weed, just at the moment they're the only game in town to get weed from unless it's legalized hence the issues.
The other questions respectfully are more geared for a DEA agent to answer.

What about any thoughts on the recent news that Mexico is so tainted and toxic that they are going to auction off mansions that were once owned by El CHAPO (that plus have included underneath them drug transport tunnels)? Plus, all the care and pampering that they give to murdered and dead members of cartels with high luxury narco tombs?
Plus the fact that El CHAPO'S wife said that some of the toxic as well as blood money that El CHAPO raked in is going to be used to help build a college university and plus the fact that Mexico's president has agreed to help 'break ground' on the construction?
I mean talk about a weakling...... I swear one of these days the press is going to get their hands on a photo that the cartel or cartel(s) gave the president a gruesome/graphic version of the atomic wedgie.

Sort of changing the subject but I feel right now the concern is El Chapo's son, this is part of the problem is we think it's over when one guy down. Until things change when one leader is captured or killed he'll just be replaced with a new guy whether he's related to El Chapo or Caro-Quintero etc... and rinse and repeat.

This may seem both on subject as well as off subject but is anyone familiar with the country music hit "All I Know About Mexico"?
I ask cause it seems to be to me the only country song that explains how on going the drugs are in Mexico and the horrors of Tijuana. If you ask me I think that they should write a "All We Know About Mexico: Part 2", I mean the mayhem is so much ongoing and the record breaking murder rate? I mean what better time to really have America bite back for all the poison and gore that goes on in Mexico?

I just tried to look up this NEW cartel function/faction or whatever and I only came across a Mexican rock band called Jaguares, so who ever this mysterious NEW cartel is they might be fans of this group.

As long as there is a market for drugs in the U.S. and our laws are the way they are,the cycle of cartel violence won't end.

Just read an article that a Mexican officer who was involved in the botched arrest attempt of one of El CHAPO'S sons was ambushed and was executed in a 155 round hail of gun fire.
Difficult Question: which 'Hell' do you think is worse? The original flaming pit where Lucifer lives or Mexico where they make Hell not just bloody but also quite lucrative/luxurious?

Well hell is hell. But also keep in mind it is not all of Mexico but parts of the country and there are other countries (heck, even neighborhoods in the U.S. that look like war zones. There are touristy areas and some cities relatively safe. I admittedly don't think I'll ever visit Mexico because of what I see in the news, but there are people who visit regularly and are fine.
It's sad what goes on in Mexico but they're not the only country suffering from unnecessary violence.

It's sad what goes on in Mexico but they're not the only country suffering from unnecessary violence. Very Big Important Question: When do you consider to yourself (like for example you Scumhunter) as to when as well as even that of if there's a moment to even question as to if hope, optimism, and praying is not enough, like where do you (specifically that of We every single human in America) consider drawing the line in the sand somewhere with agreeing with your feelings that certain things are so out of control that a person (like me Fugitivehunter666) just considers throwing in the towel on Mexico because of all the bloody carnage? I mean from what I'm trying to say is that...... Let's say somewhat down the road in the future that a big mothership of a cartel is formed that they target the US/Mexican Border with what seems like endless tanks and launch a massive invasion as well as mother load shipment of drugs, they blow up every single border crossing in California, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona? To a person with common sense that would be a big wake up call and a major I Told You So to all those optimists?
