KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (FOX26) — A 25-year-old woman is wanted in connection with the death of her baby after the coroner found the stillborn baby had toxic levels of meth in his system, police say.
On Sept. 10, Hanford Police say 25-year-old Chelsea Becker delivered a stillborn baby at a hospital, but the baby's death was considered to be suspicious.
Medical professionals and other parties that knew Becker told police that the stillborn baby may have been exposed to drugs while Becker was pregnant.
The Kings County Coroner's Office completed an autopsy on the baby and ruled the baby's death a homicide due to toxic levels of meth in the baby's system.
After further investigation, police learned about Becker's years of substance abuse.
Police say Becker also has had multiple children removed from her custody in the past few years due to situations surrounding her substance abuse.
Police say Becker admitted to officers that she used meth while she was most recently pregnant and as late as three days before she gave birth to the stillborn baby.
At this time, there is an active arrest warrant for Chelsea Becker on a murder charge with the bail amount of $5,000,000, police say.
Becker is known to hang out in the area of Tachi Palace in Lemoore, the City of Hanford as well as the City of Dinuba.
Police say if you see Becker, do not attempt to contact her but immediately call Hanford police or the local law enforcement agency of the city she's in.
If you know where Becker is, please call the Hanford Police Department Investigations Unit at 559-585-2540.

Thoughts? Based on local news reports, Becker was still at large at least of today's posting date (November 4th, 2019). I wish there weren't so many breaking news fugitive cases this weekend but we've seen spurts like this from time to time. I sympathize with addicts but this case is ridiculous and Becker needs to be responsible for her alleged actions and turn herself in.
