From the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) website- Most Wanted fugitives section:
Wanted on Canada-wide warrant for second degree murder.
On March 20 2004, Amretta Singh was shot to death after returning home from a Brampton night club. She was shot in retaliation for a dispute that occured between her brother and two male suspects at the night club. The investigation identified Vijayaraja Manickavasagar as the shooter and a Canada-Wide Warrant was issued for his arrest. Police believe Manickavasagar may have traveled to Sri Lanka under a false passport.
Working in conjunction with Peel Regional Police.

Thoughts? Manickavasagar is my Canadian fugitive of the month for the month of October 2019. As of this posting date (10/1/2019), Manickavasagar is still listed on the RCMP website as one of their most wanted fugitives.
According to a 2008 article, the shooting happened as a result of a trivial bump at a nightclub, according to Arnetta Singh's father. To make matters worse, most of the other named participants convicted in her killing received paltry sentences, ranging from roughly only 34 months to 7 years. Her father wasn't sure Manickavasagar would ever be brought to justice, and sadly he's been right so far.

It will be hard to catch Manickavasagar to have him answer for his alleged participation, but I hope against the odds one day he will be, even if it's partial justice, to at least get some justice for Arentta Singh rather than no justice as all. (And hope karma takes care of everything else)
