Peter Calzada is wanted for failing to appear for his sentencing. He is a frequent featured fugitive on El Paso's Manhunt Monday program, the same program that featured AMW fugitives Eduardo "Tablas" Ravelo, Raul Lopez and Arturo Blanco.
In 1997, El Paso Sheriff's Deputies Peter Calzada and Michael Duran were on duty when they kidnapped a woman who was stranded. Threatening to incarcerate her if she did not comply with their demands, she was taken to a secluded area and sexually assaulted. In 1998, Calzada and Duran were arrested and both eventually pled guilty to the charges. In 2003, Calzada failed to appear in court for his sentencing and a warrant was issued for his arrest. In 2009, authorities got info that he was living deep in Mexico and working as an English teacher. In 2012, a tipster spotted him at an airport in Arizona.
Also in 2008, authorities publicized an arrest warrant for Peter's Calzada's brother Gilbert. At the time, Gilbert was wanted on narcotics charges in Denver, Colorado. However I can't find anything recent on Gilbert's case.
Thoughts? If the sighting is accurate, then Peter Calzada is probably travelling between the US and Mexico on a somewhat occasional basis at least. Sadly he's an ex-Sheriff's Deputy so it's not that surprising he's been able to have stayed on the run for the past 11 years.
