According to Newspapers.com archives, Amado Rosales is accused of stabbing his 31-year old girlfriend, Rosario Velazquez to death after a fight. Authorities were called to her condominium on November 28, 1998. She was able to give a detailed statement to police but tragically died a few hours later from her injuries.
On February 17, 1999, an indictment was issued against Amado Rosales for First Degree Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. He is believed to have fled to Mexico after Rosario's murder.

Thoughts? As of today, September 24, 2019, Amado Rosales is still listed as a wanted fugitive on the Ocean County Most Wanted page. Unlike a lot of New Jersey Police Departments, Ocean County thankfully keeps an up-to-date most wanted page.
Despite the passage of time, Amado is most likely still alive in his mid 40s. He may still be in Mexico but occasionally fugitives do return to the United States thinking no one is publicizing their manhunts any longer.
