Authorities in Ohio are searching for the individual(s) responsible for an arson incident that left five university students dead. AMW aired the case in 2003, shortly after the crime occurred. On Apr 13, 2003, 10 to 20 people were sleeping in a home near the Ohio State University in Columbus after a party in the home. Someone set a fire on the porch of the home and five students were killed, 19-year olds Erin DeMarco and Christine Wilson, 20-year old Andrea Dennis and 21-year olds Alan Schlessman and Kyle Raulin. Early on, authorities had a suspect in the case, Robert "Lucky" Patterson. He was arrested but the prosecutor said there wasn't enough evidence so Patterson was released. Patterson is now among many other persons of interest in this quintuple murder. Last year, a letter was sent to 40,000 alumni asking for information and for interviews regarding this case. Thoughts? The only way I feel this case is going to be solved is through interviews regarding any events that occurred that night, especially during the party. Admin Note #1: According to online articles, anyone who has information about the arson is asked to call Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS.Admin Note #2: If you have any news-related updates on this case, please contact us here: amwfans.com/thread/1662/website-contact-formwww.10tv.com/content/stories/2013/05/17/columbus-ohio-state-launches-new-effort-for-information-in-arson-that-killed-5.htmlwww.nbc4i.com/story/20745226/cold-case-fatal-osu-arson-remains-unsolved

Interestingly enough the detective in one article does state he feels this is a solvable case. There's not a lot to go on based on what's been released in the media, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was more police know about to work on.

NBC's Columbus affiliate did a new story on the Ohio State arson back in April. They interview Alan Schlissman's parents. After Alan’s death, his family started a nonprofit organization called Al’s Clinics (alsclinics.org), where they raise money to support young people financially in the three sports Alan played: basketball, tennis and golf. nbc4i.com/2017/04/13/still-no-answers-14-years-after-ohio-state-university-fatal-fire/
