Ynw melly real name Jarell Maurice Demons is currently the second rapper to face a death sentence after Christopher Roney alias Cool C and Steady B aka Warren Mcglone this was before my time though I was born in 01 this happened in 96 and in entirely different states I'm a native Floridian so I'm well aware of crime in general

Lots of rappers, rock stars etc... have wound up in prison over the years. There finally seems to be a tide of holding celebrities accountable. This country has a tradition of celebrating celebrity (I know that was redundant) and thinking they're these magical people and as a result they get slaps on the wrist, get off easy (being able to afford better lawyers helps also of course) for the same crimes regular folk would get years for.
We've seen with many cases lately we're believing victims and also recognizing celebrities can be awful people just like regular people can be awful people.
P.S. I am surprised to learn you were born in 2001, I thought you were older! (Not that there's anything wrong with being young, the majority of posters here are under 30- I'm actually the grandfather of the group lol).

I thought of 3 examples offhand: *TV personality turned insider trader Martha Stewart *Acquitted double murder suspect turned armed robber and burglar OJ Simpson *A disgraced rap artist by the stage name C-Murder.
Unfortunately for the purpose of this topic, in all the other cases of an entertainment artist getting pinched for some serious crime or another, the charges didn't stick. I don't even know the status of hip hop & R&B turned rape of a teenager defendant R Kelly's case.
Meanwhile, I was really born at the end of '990, but after I shower, shave, and let my hair dry, I resemble a child born some time in the 00-Agents' Decade. Most people say I look like a '005, except I'm taller. And a little more than half of my emotional mannerisms, interests, and personal memory of worldly matters like sociology and politics likewise reflect a post-millennial. If you met me at a restaurant booth without reading or hearing anything about me, and I showered and shaved like I described, chances are you'd mistake me for a child from Generation Z at first glance.

The R. Kelly saga is currently still going on, he has a trial date in April 2020 at the moment.
