On Sept. 20, 1986, Virginia Duclos Bruce's body was discovered in a dumpster behind the Highwood Bar and Grill on Dixwell Avenue. She was 28 years old and had a son and a daughter. Police wrote about the case in a post on Facebook Friday morning, saying "33 years ago today, Virginia Duclose-Bruce, also known as 'Ginny' to her loving friends and family, was senselessly murdered, after leaving the Highwood Cafe on lower Dixwell Avenue." "This has been a cold case for our department since," the post reads. "Over the years, every lead possible was followed up, but unfortunately, for Ginny, her family and friends, this case has never been solved. The pain families suffer in cold cases throughout our Country, is immeasurable. Today will be a difficult day for this family, as it has been every year since. If anyone learns of any new information regarding this case. Please notify our department. The family and friends of Ginny want justice."
