Somaly Mam was among the most noteable of advocates who spread the word about sex trafficking based on her "life story" as a sex slave in Cambodia. Even appearing on the Cambodia AMW Episode focused on sex trafficking in that nation. Now after a Newsweek Report has contradicted her claims about being a sex slave, she has resigned from her foundation.
I have to go and won't be back until later today (going to a cool museum with my father as my birthday present, even though my birthday is on June 4), but this report seems to be pretty convincing about Somaly Mam's supposed lies. Even though the foundation did do good things, supposedly lying like this isn't going to help the credibility of actual sex trafficking victims.
