Photo Credits: Project: Cold Case ------ According to Newslibrary archives, on August 28, 2009, Rebecca Mooneyham was shot and killed while in her living room. Rebecca was sleeping in a recliner. Authorities believe the killer stood on the house's porch and fired a single shot through a window at 11:30 PM. Rebecca was a Sunday School teacher and a church secretary so her family at the time had no clue who would want to kill her. Based on crime location, it is advised to contact the McMinnville Police Department at 931-668-7000 if you have any information on the murder of Rebecca Mooneyham.

Thoughts? As of today, August 31, 2019, Rebecca Mooneyham's murder is unfortunately still unsolved since it was added to Project: Cold Case's "Faces of Unsolved Homicides" case feature earlier this week. Rebecca is Face #607. Based on the last news report being done about this case (according to Newslibrary) dating back to March 2010, it sounds like there's still no publicized motive, or even known motive at all. The articles state Rebecca's home was on a rural property so it seems out of the way to commit a murder without a specific reason. The most common motives such as robbery, burglary, dispute, etc. don't seem to be the case here. www.projectcoldcase.org/faces-of-unsolved-homicide/

My first thought when I hear about a case like this is a stray bullet however in this case considering how close-range and where the bullet was fired, this seems deliberate, but why anyone would want to kill Rebecca based on hhow she was described makes no sense.
One possibly theory could possibly be a hired hitman targeting the wrong house but even that I admit might be a stretch.

For the wall of unsolved homicide victims that includes Rebecca Mooneyham, set up by Project: Cold Case, we need more "arrest" stamps on that wall. Thankfully detectives were able to make that possible in this case for instance after 10 years.
