According to Newspapers.com archives, on November 11, 1985, Jesus Manuel Ceja allegedly fired several gunshots into a crowd of people in Nocatee, Florida. Killed were 17-year old Andy Hernandez and 16-year old Humberto Muniz. A 22-year old man suffered a gunshot wound to his stomach, but luckily survived.
Authorities discounted witness reports that the shootings were drug-related. Some believed that Jesus was looking for someone else and three victims were shot as a result of mistaken identity. Reports say the shootings may have been over Jesus's girlfriend going out with another man.
Jesus Manuel Ceja remains a fugitive to this day.
Based on investigating authorities, it is advised to contact the reporting agency at 863-993-4700 if you have any information on Jesus Manuel Ceja's whereabouts.

Thoughts? As of today, August 16, 2019, Jesus Manuel Ceja still has an active warrant in the FDLE database and the Civitek Court Records for Desoto County don't list the 1985 murder case under "Jesus Ceja", meaning the case has yet to go to court. I did find Jesus's profile in the FDLE warrants records a few months ago, but it didn't have his listed photo at the time. Thankfully someone added it which almost never happens in cold case warrant listings.
Regardless of what on the earth the motive was for the shootings, it seems like all three young men who were killed had nothing to do with anything regarding Jesus. They are truly innocent victims of a really dangerous alleged double murder suspect.
Unfortunately the last article Newspapers.com has that mentions this case was from 1989. With the lack of media attention, I suspect that this fugitive has spent at least some of his time on the run in Latin America. It may be a long shot to finally catch him, but I feel we owe it to the victims to at least try and publicize this really horrible case.
