On November 3, 1989, Jamie Cervantes Urenda escaped from the custody of Oregon Correctional authorities. Newspapers.com specifically mentions that he escaped from the Department of Corrections Release Center. He was serving a 30-40 month sentence for rape which he started serving in June of 1987.

Thoughts? As of today, August 15, 2019, Jamie Cervantes Urenda is still listed as one of Oregon's most wanted prison escapee by their DOC.
The one thing that only Jamie can answer is why even escape after already serving 25 months of a 30-40 month sentence in the first place? I never understand that with certain prison escapee fugitives.
