In Early 1982, Thomas McCain was the organizer of a local neighbourhood watch group in Miami, Florida's South Beach area. On January 12, 1982, authorities say an unarmed man was trying to break into the car of one of Thomas's business partners. As the man was running away from the scene, they say that Thomas allegedly shot the unarmed man to death.
Once Thomas was charged with murder, he fled the area and abandoned his fruit shipping business.
According to a February 3, 1982 Newspapers.com article, investigators strongly believe that the name "Thomas McCain" was an alias that the fugitive adopted in 1976 while in Brooklyn, New York. That same year, the fugitive reportedly travelled to Canada where he got a governmental job position. In 1978, he is believed to have crossed the border into the United States. It's strongly believed the fugitive is originally from Trinidad although there were claims from him that he was actually raised in India.
Based on crime location, it is advised to contact the reporting law enforcement agency at 305-471-1700 if you have any information on "Thomas McCain's" whereabouts.

Thoughts? As of today, August 13, 2019, Thomas McCain has active warrants in the FDLE and the Miami-Dade Public Warrant databases. His 1982 murder case in the Miami-Dade court records also shows no movement since the early 1980s. Thankfully he was profiled on a 1986 news report about fugitive murder suspects from Miami that was accessible through the Miami Dade News Archives from Newsbank.
This is a very unusual case because there seems to be little official information we know for sure about "Thomas McCain". I honestly feel it's possible he may have traveled back here to Canada at some point if he ever left Trinidad as a fugitive. That's why there may be a better chance for the public to help apprehend "Thomas McCain" compared to other Miami-Dade cold case fugitives.
