Today (as well as yesterday) is the 50th anniversary of the murders committed by Charles Manson and his "family" in Los Angeles.
The murders of Sharon, Leno, Jay and Abigail have been endlessly rehashed, especially now that Tarantino has used it in Once Upon A Time...Jn Hollywood and, of course, the anniversary which is now here. (I remember the book Helter Skelter when it was released in paperback.)
It should be remembered that Manson and his accomplices were not the prime suspects. Had AMW had been around, they would have spent a lot of time on the case.
I believe that Manson et al lead to the likes of James Ruppert, Ted Bundy, Alton Coleman, John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, and the mass murderers of San Ysidro, Lubbock, Virginia Tech, Aurora, Sandy Hook, Orlando, Las Vegas, Pittsburgh, Gilroy, El Paso and Dayton. The glorification of these people by the news cycle has led to further violence!

Some people are desperate to make a name for themselves, but a lot of them don't care if they become universal symbols of evil. I just yesterday read a brief summary of the Manson Family's crimes. They preferred sharp weapons, but their most disturbing M.O. was draining out their victims' blood and writing on the wall with it.
Meanwhile, if it qualifies for the RAZZIES, I'm hoping to put Hilary Duff star vehicle The Haunting Of Sharon Tate on the Bottom 40 Films of '019 in the winter.
