From The New York Daily News:
A man out on bail in a minor assault case is wanted in the stray-bullet shooting of a 13-year-old girl in a Brooklyn playground last month.
Ahziem Walter, 19, fired a bullet into the girl’s shoulder as he blasted away at a rival outside the St. Andrew’s Playground at Kingston Ave. and Herkimer St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant July 24, police said.
The girl, who was sitting on a park bench, ran for cover when the shooting started, but a stray bullet punched through her lower shoulder and pierced one of her lungs.
A relative of the girl said Walter’s alleged victim ran in the same direction as the girl when she was hit.
“I need it to stop,” the victim’s mom, Rabnette Flowers, 44, told the Daily News a day after the shooting.
Walter is free on bail on an assault charge lodged against him in June.
Cops on Thursday released a photo of Walter, and ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.

Thoughts? Based on news reports, Walter was still at large at least as of August 2nd, 2019.
This is a heartbreaking case as even though the girl miraculously survived, the injuries she suffered will probably affect her for the rest of her life. And this is why we never condone any violence, even if the victim in a homicide or attempted homicide was a gang member or criminal themselves. Because the problem is too often innocent lives and innocent children get caught in the crossfire of the senseless violence.
