Would anyone want to take a small break from the morbid crime topics that mainly represent this forum, and hear about positive news in society. Despite most news being discouraging, terrifying, or just plain grim at times, there are reasons to be optimistic. Take the fact that Texas has officially for the first time generated more electricity from wind power than coal. 22% from wind versus 21% from coal. By comparison, in 2003, coal generated 40% versus 0.8% for wind power. The business leaders in West Texas probably realized that the fossil fuel reserves will peak in a few decades, so cities like Midland and Odessa have to have something else for their future economy. It's also good for US emissions since Texas is the second more populous state in the US and has one of their largest economies. www.goodnewsnetwork.org/wind-surpasses-coal-in-texas-for-first-time/

Thank you for this, although this good news is unfortunately on another day of a mass shooting, hopefully we can refer back to this thread from time to time.
