Authorities in Bakersfield, California are trying to identify the killers of Wendale Davis. AMW aired this case in 2009. On April 23, 2006, 16-year old Wendale was sitting in a parked car when what was believed to be a dark-coloured Ford Thunderbird pulled up. Someone in the Thunderbird opened fire on the vehicle with Wendale inside, killing the teenager. Authorities say there were several people inside the Thunderbird and they were believed to be gang members. Authorities have also said that while they have gotten solid leads on this case, they don't have enough evidence to arrest anyone due to a lack of physical evidence. As a result of his son's murder, Wesley David created the Wendale Davis Foundation, designed to mentor at-risk youth in Bakersfield. The group consists of volunteers and former gang members, who've lived the hard life of being a gang member. Thoughts? Sadly, without an eyewitness to come forward or one of the killers to turn on their associates, it's unlikely an arrest is going to happen. We can only hope that the Wendale Davis Foundation continues to make a difference. According to the first article, Wendale's father claims to know who is responsible. I think there may be a suspect or suspects that police feel committed the murder, but sadly there is not enough to charge them. It stinks, but hopefully the Wendale Davis Foundation can help other tragedies from happening.

If you ask me, the worst part is the motive: The 5 gang bangers behind the murder were simply "looking for trouble."
