CONCORD — A $10,000 reward is being offered by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force for information leading to the location and arrest of fugitive Matthew Thomas Dion. Dion is wanted by the Manchester Police Department on an outstanding arrest warrant for possession of child pornography, as well as for questioning relating to the arson fire and homicides of Dion’s parents. Dion, 38, was last known to reside in Manchester and his whereabouts have been unknown since March 24, the day an arson fire destroyed the family home on Mooresville Road. After the fire was extinguished, the parents of Matthew Dion were found dead inside the residence. The deaths of Robert and Constance Dion were determined to be homicide. During the extensive crime scene investigation conducted by Manchester police, some materials belonging to Matthew Dion were discovered and determined to be child pornography, which led to the outstanding arrest warrant for him. Matthew Dion is also wanted for questioning regarding the fire and homicides of his parents. At the time he disappeared after the fire, Dion was reportedly driving a 2009, white, four-door, Nissan Altima with New Hampshire license plate number 341-0587. It is possible that Dion has changed his physical appearance in an effort to conceal his identity. Based on this information, the Marshals Fugitive Task Force through its relationship with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) requested a composite image of Dion be created to show him without facial hair. The task force has released several photographs showing different appearances and more detailed photographs of Dion. Dion could be anywhere across the U.S. or beyond and it is important to remind the public not to attempt to apprehend Dion, but to report any information to the U.S. Marshals Service or their local police.

Seems to be a lot of fugitives wanted for questioning in suspicious fires lately. In this case, the known victims are Matthew's own parents.
A reminder that Dion is only wanted for questioning and hasn't been charged with homicide in relation to his parents' deaths. However, he IS officially wanted on child pornography charges.
Dion is 5'8, 200 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. Call the Marshals if you've seen him.

I knew about this case and was hoping you would do a thread about it as part of your monthly non-amw case posting. Anyway, I found an article that goes into more detail about Matthew Dion's life. Six years ago, he returned to New Hampshire from Georgia where he had a decent life, according to a friend. When he returned, he had a back injury, developed scruffy hair and avoided contact with others. Matthew also claimed to work for Comcast, but the company said he was never an employee. He also had a child with an old classmate at one point and seemed to be happy. So this is a very interesting case. I can still see him hiding out in the Northeastern US with an altered appearance (possibly similar to one of the altered photos the NCMEC did of him). I will count him as a contender on my 2014 MW List, but as a lower ranking since he hasn't been charged in the murders of his parents, but he could provide key information. www.unionleader.com/article/20140326/NEWS07/140329499

I have a confession to make. I knew about this case a few weeks before too. Although I didn't know some of the details you mentioned The problem is it was when the Alexander Hill Jr. case happened. The article about the $5,000 reward reminded me about it and since it's now May I can finally post it. As badly as I want Hill Jr. caught, I have a rule that I generally don't place fugitives only wanted for questioning on my top 10 list itself. But if they are officially charged, they will place very highly (Hill would be a lock for #1)

Rumors that Matthew Dion has been spotted in St. Petersburg Florida have now been confirmed. And there's another update- Dion's believed to have stolen a silver 2013 Hyundai Elantra, bearing Florida tag G673WH. Some articles claim a map with houses circled and the word "baby" next to them were found in Dion's car. But St. Petersburg PD has been quoted in other articles as calling them rumors. While I'm assuming the Marshals anonymous number 1-877-WANTED-2 and tip form are still valid, there is a also now a detective you can call in St. Petersburg- Detective Amanda Newton at 727-893-7780www.newstalkflorida.com/police-searching-for-double-homicide-suspect/

New details have been released. Investigators have determined Dion befriended a 19-year old and his girlfriend while living in St. Petersburg. Here is a bit more in-depth: "Officials said Matthew Dion was using the name Cameron Rowell, and the couple engaged him in conversation at a restaurant. He was described as appearing withdrawn and depressed. Matthew Dion eventually asked if he could use their wi-fi, and he reached a deal to live in his car outside the home where the 19-year-old lived with his mother. Matthew Dion developed a relationship with the mother and was eventually allowed to use the home to some extent. Investigators said he became comfortable enough in Florida to begin looking for his own apartment, but things fell apart when the mother realized she was missing several hundred dollars from her bank account. On Sept. 5, Matthew Dion fled the home with the woman's 2013 Hyundai Elantra and a handgun, along with other items from the family, officials said. The thefts weren't reported for two days. His old car was towed, but police said they weren't notified about that for another week, when the tow company called for a title check of the car. Police then learned that Matthew Dion swapped the plates on his car with plates in Atlanta, presumably on his way to Florida. Investigators said that in mid-September, the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office received a letter, apparently from Matthew Dion, that was postmarked from Atlanta. In the handwritten letter, he alluded to being suicidal, investigators said." www.wmur.com/news/new-details-released-in-search-for-man-wanted-in-parents-deaths/29824120

If The Hunt gets a second season, can we please have this guy on the show. We need more fugitive cases on the show with recent leads.

We ask The Hunt to consider so many cases but unfortunately they can't air them all. Although in my opinion I think this case is a great case for tv- there's enough tragedy, mystery, and intrigue to go along with just looking for a fugitive. This is taking nothing away from how tragic it is but it is a very interesting case.
