MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Family members of a Mobile man who was murdered two years ago are honoring his memory and demanding answers.
His body was found in the street at the corner of Octavia and Vermillion on April 28, 2017.
The family of 21-year-old Bradley Huey is remembering his life, but are also hoping to re-ignite people’s memories to get answers as to what happened.
“It still hurts the same as if it happened yesterday,” said Brooke Taylor, Bradley’s sister.
Taylor and her family gathered at the exact spot her brother was killed.
“It happened in a blink of an eye,” said Taylor.
Two years ago, Huey was gunned down in the middle of the street at Vermillion and Octavia Drives.
“This could have been any body’s family,” said Taylor.
Huey had just come from her home, his car was found later in a different location.
Two years later, they still don’t have answers. Police tell the family it may have been a robbery gone wrong.
“We still haven’t forgotten, still can’t go on without any justice. We need some closure. Maybe after that point, we can move forward,” said Taylor.
This is the second year they’ve gathered at this spot, to honor his memory.
“The family wanted to come together and do something positive in his name,” said Taylor.
While the pain is still fresh and present at his memorial, they say it is important to try and get justice.
“Reopening a wound, I didn’t want to continue on doing this, but we don’t have closure, so I’m just going to keep on pushing,” said Taylor.
The family is asking if you have any information about Huey’s death, to contact Mobile Police. They will continue to hold a memorial at the spot he was killed until they get answers.
