Loretto Villar has been wanted by the NYPD for over 30 years in connection with the murders of two young women. I believe AMW first aired this case in 1991 (based on something posting on the show's IMDB episode listing), but I don't know when the case was last aired. Villar was once on the show's 10 Most Wanted Fugitive List, according to the original website archives from 1996/1997 when he was listed along with other longtime fugitives like Vickie Nash, Dennis Melvin Howe and Alvaro Alvarado.
In 1980, a woman named Emanuela Roman was having issues in her marriage and thought that having children would help. She contacted a friend she knew from her church named Gladys Villar and asked if she could help. She paid Gladys, then Gladys's husband, 35-year old Loretto took the money and went to look for children. Loretto found 19-year old Lenor Reyes in Bronx while working as a cab driver, murdered her and abducted her baby son to give to his wife. The remains of Lenor were found on Dec 28, 1980, but at the time was buried in a pauper grave after authorities couldn't identify her. In April 1981, Loretto strangled 19-year old Yudelko Maldonado to death and abducted her baby daughter. Several months later in 1982, a confidential informant led authorities to Emanuela and then Gladys. After an investigation into missing person reports, detectives determined the identities of the victims and reunited the abducted children with the relatives.
Gladys Villar pled guilty to kidnapping and according to the New York Department Of Corrections, she served just about four years in prison. Emanuela Roman was not charged with any crime in connection with this case. Loretto Villar was charged with two counts of murder and kidnapping, but Gladys claimed she hadn't seen him since Father's Day 1981 and that Loretto wanted to get to "someplace warm".

Thoughts? Loretto was a Cuban refugee who emigrated to the United States from Spain in 1980. The above photo is the only available photo investigators have of him. According to his Final Justice profile, there were rumors that he may be dead, but investigators weren't exactly sure, and I'm curious as to where those rumors originated from in the first place. Sadly if Loretto is still alive and fled back to Cuba then he won't be captured at this rate, although he would only be 69-years old so he's not as old as some other cold case AMW fugitives.
