Russ Ewing, a Chicago area TV reporter, has died at the age of 95.
Ewing was a reporter who became so trusted that even inmates/criminals often contacted him so they could turn themselves in/surrender to authorities. A total of 100 suspects reportedly surrendered to Ewing.
They don't say who, but apparently a fugitive who was on America's Most Wanted called Ewing to surrender after seeing himself on the show.
Ewing seems to have a storied career, and I am glad he was rewarded for his great work with a long life into his mid-90's.
