On January 24,1994 at approximately 1915 hours, Garcia allegedly went into the Days Market, 3536 20th Avenue to commit a beer run petty theft. The store clerk/victim chased Garcia out the front door as he fled with the beer and dropping it. Once outside, suspect #2 (in custody) then shot victim in the chest killing him with a possible .22 caliber revolver that maybe in suspect Garcia's possession.
Both suspects ran to a waiting vehicle with two other accomplices (both in custody) and went to another store and committed the same beer theft, this time the store clerk attempted to copy down the license plate and was shot at. Suspect is wanted for murder, burglary and robbery. Suspect is an illegal immigrant and reportedly fled back to Mexico via commercial airliner.

Thoughts? As of today, June 2, 2019, through a $1 USD (Converted to CDN) search through the Sacramento Superior Court Records, Gabriel Garcia's February 1994 felony court entry shows as "active" with no movement since 1994. The California Attorney General's Website featured Garcia until they discontinued the Most Wanted program in 2008, luckily the 2006 version of the website shows his picture. He is still at large to this day based on the court record search.
Without evidence to the contrary, Gabriel is probably still hiding out in Mexico. But as is the case with dozens and dozens of other California fugitives, occasionally they return to the Golden State thinking that no one is looking for them anymore. This is why it's important to get fugitives like Garcia back on the internet.
