From ABC Nashville (wkrn.com):
CLAY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A manhunt was underway Monday morning in Clay County for a convicted murderer deemed "very armed and dangerous."
According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, George Edward Hardin, armed with a revolver, evaded deputies and ran into the woods in the area of Chad Grace Road and Estis Sims Road, which is located in the western part of the county.
The convicted murderer and rapist was wanted in Cumberland County on charges including kidnapping and violation of the sex offender registry, deputies said.
The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said deputies had responded around 3:45 p.m. Sunday to Elite Market on Highway 127 North where a man was reportedly holding a gun to a woman in a car.
When deputies arrived, the man and woman were gone.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office then received a call involving a screaming woman and a man with a gun, identified as Hardin, at Obed River Market in Celina.
When deputies arrived at the market, they said they located the woman who was safe.
Clay County deputies pursued Hardin but he got away, leading to a manhunt by ground and air.
Hardin stands 5'10'' and weighs more than 200 pounds. He was least seen wearing a teal shirt, possibly a polo, blue jeans and tennis shoes.
The sheriff's office said residents should expect a large police presence, as well as helicopter patrol.
If spotted, investigators urged residents not to approach Hardin, but to call 911 immediately.

Thoughts? As far as I can tell, Hardin is still at large as of this posting date (May 23rd, 2019). The articles about this breaking news manhunt came out a few days ago and I've seen no updates about him being captured since. At the same time, local news stations can be very good at putting the word out about manhunts but not updating when someone is actually caught so if anyone has any updates/proof-of-updates past, present or future they are always more than welcome to let us know.
Anyway this is a very scary case and according to other articles I read the woman allegedly kidnapped DID NOT know Hardin previously. Quite frankly I'm surprised there isn't more media about this guy considering he's already a convicted murder and sex offender.
