The recent discovery that Rich Kohlmorgen, one of Spiro Germenis' victims, had passed away, got me thinking about other AMW cases where a victim or victims died before the case was solved. Based on my memory, there's actually a significant number of victims who died without seeing a solution to their case.
Bobby Harper - The Missouri State Trooper who was shot by Timothy Coombs in the early 90s. Trooper Harper survived the shooting, but according to AMW he never returned to work after the incident. He was interviewed by AMW when the case was first profiled, but died about a year and a half later after a heart operation. His death most likely had nothing to do with the shooting.
Jennifer Bland - Woman shot by Jose Sastre-Cintron. She survived the shooting, but was paralyzed from the waist down. She had hoped that she would one day, through physical therapy, regain the use of her legs, but she died in 2009, around the time of Sastre-Cintron's second 15 Seconds of Shame profile. I'd always felt Sastre-Cintron should have gotten a full profile; his case would have been PERFECT for the Lifetime show.
Stephanie Senac - One of the seven victims of the Las Cruces Bowling Alley Massacre. Stephanie survived the shooting initially, but died in 1999 due to complications from her injuries. Oddly enough, AMW never mentioned this in either their 2004 or 2010 profiles of the case.
Bill Cooper - The father-in-law of Robert Fisher, who killed Bill Cooper's daughter, Mary, and grandchildren. Bill was interviewed a number of times by AMW from 2001-2003. You could see in his eyes how badly he wanted Fisher captured, but sadly he never saw it happen; Bill died in 2009, a few months after Fisher's last profile on Fox.
Can anyone else think of other victims that have since passed away?
