If you have any information on the whereabouts of Victor Barnard, please call 1-866-THE-HUNT or submit a web tip by clicking on this link: www.cnn.com/interactive/2014/06/us/the-hunt/tip/The Hunt case description: In the 1990s, Victor Barnard started a religious sect called the River Road Fellowship in Finlayson, Minnesota, about 100 miles north of Minneapolis. Years later, the charismatic religious leader allegedly convinced his some members of his congregation to hand over their firstborn daughters to live with him in a secluded campsite. He called the group of 10 girls “the Maidens.” After years of alleged sexual abuse, two of the girls left the sect and alerted authorities who launched a criminal investigation. Lindsay Tornambe -- one of the two girls, now in her late 20s – told CNN that Barnard first molested her after he preached to her that he represented Jesus Christ in the flesh. She told investigators that she estimated that Barnard sexually assaulted her one to three times a month until she left in 2010. In April 2014, prosecutors charged Barnard with 59 counts of criminal sexual conduct with the two young girls while they were members of his church, and a nationwide manhunt ensued. Barnard -- who was last seen in Spokane, Washington, according to state police there -- was nowhere to be found. Update: On November 25th, 2014, Victor Barnard was added to the US Marshals Top 15 List. www.startribune.com/local/255322011.html?page=2&c=ywww.northlandsnewscenter.com/news/local/Nationwide-warrant-out-for-man-with-about-60-sexual-conduct-charges-255356841.html

Thoughts? It's hard not to hear about this case and not think of AMW fugitives Warren Jeffs and Orson Black. Luckily we had a non-AMW capture this week to make room, but even if there wasn't, I would have added Barnard as a breaking news case tonight. And if the allegations against Barnard are true, this is one of the worst cult/child exploitation cases I have heard of since Jeffs and Black. I apologize for posting such a lengthy article, but I thought it was the best one on the case. It's very scary when you consider there is a high likelihood of more alleged victims that are too afraid to come forward.

I would be shocked if there weren't more victims of Barnard out there, considering the way he found and abused the two women who came forward. This would be a perfect "The Hunt" case to be aired, but hopefully Barnard gets caught before July 13.

No updates but wanted to mention I'm seeing the case all over the national media now so hopefully the exposure helps. Since the US Marshals are on the case, hopefully they add him to the top 15 list if he isn't caught soon (perfect considering Clyde Hall was captured. Just put Barnard in that slot.)

The latest information places Barnard in the Spokane, Washington area. However, apparently his wife fled with $400,000 and police suspect he may be already waiting for her in Brazil. (As if this wasn't a perfect enough case for "The Hunt" already, but let's get him before their debut and make him an amwfans.com direct capture ) www.bringmethenews.com/2014/04/21/cult-leader-accused-in-sex-abuse-on-the-run/

To be honest, I've wondered about some already but obviously can't officially claim anything yet. This is off-topic but when I first started this forum, all I really wanted was a place for us to discuss AMW and pontificate where we think their most notorious fugitives are. What's transpired since has taken on a bit of a life of its' own. I hope this doesn't sound egotistical, but I feel like I've now become an unintentional crime fighter as well. I wish I had the "catching" mindset from the start as perhaps it would have happened already.

A new article on a website Gawker from Kehla Backman another former member of Barnard's cult, who although did not experience anything as bad what the two alleged victims brave enough to come forward claim, confirms the controlling and threatening nature of Barnard. According to Backman, things started unraveling after another girl in her fellowship, Jessica, told her mother that her stepfather who was also a fellowship leader had been sexually abusing her. (Her stepfather, Dirk, was sentenced to four months in jail with work release and Barnard testified in court on his behalf) That and everything else led to Kehla's parents removing her from Barnard's fellowship. Someone who she felt was no doubt one of Barnard's followers came to their house and told her parents that if they didn't come back they would die like Ananias and Sapphira— the Biblical couple who held back on the profit of the sale of their land and were struck dead for lying to the church. It seems the more we learn about this case, the more bizarre and sickening things get... gawker.com/the-more-you-commit-the-more-the-leader-loves-you-1565576765

Decided to move Barnard to the AMW/The Hunt fugitives section since we now have confirmation based on the new John Walsh trailer on CNN.com that he will be profiled on The Hunt. Saves me time later on. Barnard is the first (non fbi or usms list) former forum exclusive fugitive that we know of to make the new show but I'm sure there will be some more!

Good idea to move this thread now before the show premiere. When I have time later today, I'll make a thread on the recent fugitive case I pm'ed you about yesterday to keep the non-show recent fugitive section active.

Victor Barnard has possibly been spotted in Washington state. He might become The Hunt's first pre-airing capture! I really need to reflect this as a Hunt case when I get the chance but in the meantime I'll say here if anyone is reading this please call 1-866-the-hunt or visit cnn.com/the hunt to anonymously report if you know B arnard's whereabouts. m.startribune.com/?id=271157661

The initial article was a bit long so I edited the thread to just the brief Hunt case description along with infpo on The Hunt. It would be interesting if The Hunt captures him before he's aired.

Well the good news is that if this is all accurate, he didn't end up fleeing to Brazil, therefore he should be much easier for The Hunt to find.
