GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- Police have reached out to media in Atalanta in hopes of getting tips on the whereabouts of a person-of-interest in a Grand Rapids double homicide.
Grand Rapids police Sgt. Cathy Williams confirmed that a news release was sent to Atlanta area media regarding Derrell Demon Brown, 45.
She said he has connections to that community.
Police have been trying to find Brown since shortly after the March 13 shooting deaths of Cherletta Baber-Bey, 45, and Keyona Griffin 25 at the home they shared on Sheldon Avenue SE near Buckley Street. Brown and Baber-Bey had dated, police said.
Brown has a warrant out with nationwide extradition on allegations of receiving and concealing a stolen firearm.
Silent Observer also is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Thoughts? Based on that press release about Brown possibly hiding out in Atlanta, he was still at large at least as of May 3rd, 2019.
But man, I realize Brown's technically a person of interest, but considering the circumstances what an eerie middle name.
A reminder that Brown is believed to be possibly in Atlanta, but he is a person of interest in a double homicide so anyone who thinks they've spotted him anywhere should do the right thing and call authorities immediately.
