(Above photo credit: Michigan Cold Cases website) From The Detroit News: More than two years after a fatal shooting in Sterling Heights, a reward for tips to find a suspect has been increased to $12,500, Crime Stoppers of Michigan announced Friday. Nikolla Berishaj was sitting in a vehicle parked near a condominium complex in the 13330 block of Denver Circle North about 3:20 a.m. Nov. 9, 2016, when someone fired a gun inside, striking him in the chest, investigators reported. The 33-year-old was taken to Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, where he later died. Anyone with information can anonymously call 1-800-SPEAK-UP or go to www.1800speakup.org.www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/macomb-county/2019/02/22/12-500-reward-tips-2016-sterling-heights-slaying/2955781002/Michigan Cold Cases page on this case: micoldcases.com/nikolla-berishaj/Thoughts? According to the Michigan Cold Cases website, Nikollaj was at a gathering with friends when the shooting happened. This is just speculation on my part but often times when someone is sitting in a parked car and shot it is either a stray bullet and/or the victim was not the intended target. Whatever happened, hopefully the reward money propels someone to do the right thing and call Crime Stoppers of Michigan. Thanks, going to keep this in the unsolved for now since it seems this was a murder-for-hire and the person who actually ordered the contract killing still hasn't been caught yet at seems. But it is great news they have the alleged shooter in custody.
