From kfor.com:
CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — On March 21st, 1990 17-year-old Kirsta Gill came home from school and found her mother Sharon Gill dead.
She had been stabbed 38 times in her Deep Creek home.
“I noticed blood everywhere,” said Gill recalling her mother’s death.
Detectives said there were no signs of forced entry into Gill’s home. Sharon, Krista and Sharon’s husband Percy were in the process of moving to Florida permanently. Percy was working as a pastor at word of faith church in Detroit, Michigan at the time.
29 years later Charlotte County Sheriff’s Detective Mike Gandy said a new lead could link Gill’s murder back to Detroit.
“We did receive some recent information that leads us to believe that someone or more than one person in Detroit may have significant information that we would be interested in,” said Gandy.
Krista and her mom lived in their home in Deep Creek for only about six months.
Detectives said Sharon’s murder was a bizarre crime in that neighborhood.
“We didn’t have a lot of burglaries and we had no murders in that area. So it was very odd,” said Gandy.
But he said it’s a pain Krista has to live with for the rest of her life.
“You can imagine what Krista, her daughter felt when she walked into that house and found her mother that way,” he said.
And Krista said she’s ready for this chapter of her life to finally end.
“I want this to come to rest. I want to be able to say that this cold case of my mom is finally closed,” she said.
Detectives said they’re confident they can solve this case. They say no tip is too small, and urge anyone with information to call Charlotte County’s Cold Case Unit at 941-575-5361 or Crimestoppers of Michigan at 1-800 SPEAK UP[/b]

Thoughts? I am placing Sharon's case in the Unsolved on TV section since In Pursuit with John Walsh's Facebook page made a posting about her case earlier last week. (See the show's April 18th, 2019 status updates).
I found a blog from a few years ago which claims before Sharon Gill was killed, she was on the phone with her travel agent and heard a knock on the door. She thought her landscapers alive.
Also according to the blog, Sharon's next-door neighbors were a family of transplants that had been in and out of trouble with the law. One of them, Shawn Malsky, was actually arrested and charged with her murder, but released due to a lack of evidence.
Investigators were said to still view him as a potential suspect, but DNA had not yet matched any suspect according to Sharon's family:
