On May 23, 1991, authorities in the Van Nuys division of Los Angeles say that Salvador Funes allegedly shot and killed two rival gang members. The first victim, 14-year old Alejandro Penazola was killed outside a high school after classes were dismissed. Around two hours later, 18-year old Jose Granados was killed as he was working on his car. Both of the murders took place after gang signs were exchanged.
An arrest warrant was issued on May 26, 1991, but by that time, Salvador Funes was gone.
Based on crime location, it is advised to contactthe Van Nuys Community Police Station at 818-374-9500 if you have any information on Salvador Humberto Funes's whereabouts.

Thoughts? As of today, April 10, 2019, Salvador Funes has officially confirmed to still being wanted through the Los Angeles court archives. Basically, to pay $1USD (then converted to CDN), I discovered that Salvador's 1991 case was showing as "disposition pending" with no movement, meaning that nothing has happened in the case since 1991. By comparison, there was a previous case for Salvador that the records show ended through a jury trial in 1990. I do these reference checks whenever I profile an archived fugitive case, just to ensure the fugitive is in fact still wanted.
Salvador Funes was on the LAPD Most Wanted page from 2000-2006, then was not added when the LAPD updated their website to the current format. It seems like they did this with a lot of fugitive cases, probably a case of too many murder suspects having to be profiled.
