I feel this is an example that although is an American-themed crime website, unfortunately there is NO WHERE in the world that immune to violence and tragedies like the mass shooting that happened at two mosques in New Zealand today. No one of any religion- innocent citizens simply practicing their beliefs- deserves to have what happened to them. My thoughts are with the victims' loved ones. www.npr.org/2019/03/14/703644006/shots-fired-at-christchurch-new-zealand-mosque

If these victims were targeted because of their religion and faith, then there is no question this would be defined as a domestic terrorist attack. Sadly since the rise of Trump and the backlash against Syrian refugees in Europe, this has now become a much wider global issue.
Regardless of the motive, my thoughts are with the victims and their families.

While I wish these tragedies never happened in the first place, there is thankfully always a positive and inspiring story to come out of these senseless acts of violence. When a crazed gunman attacked a synagogue in Pittsburgh last year, muslims across the community raised hundreds of dollars of thousands for the victims. Now that a crazed gunman has attacked a mosque in New Zealand the Jewish community of Pittsburgh have set up a fund for the victims of the Christchurch attacks. It's beautiful and brings a tear to my eye and I wish the world could be more like this. I'm not naive enough to think there will ever truly be an end to violence and hate, but we can mitigate it and we can be better. We have to be better. www.cnn.com/2019/03/17/us/new-zealand-terror-attack-jewish-community-fundraiser-trnd/index.html?utm_term=link&utm_medium=social&utm_source=fbCNN&utm_content=2019-03-17T13%3A20%3A03

Unfortunately I watched the massacre video since a friend showed me, I honestly couldn’t bear to watch it, it’s cruel, heartbreaking, and unexplainable as to why anyone would target someone for their religion.
The people in the mosques did nothing wrong. The part that really got me to tear up was when that b**t**d shot at the people and some sort of religious tune was playing in the background, like they were praying doing nothing wrong, they weren’t bothering this guy. Then the stupid people want to say “oh the reason this happened is because they all come here with children and the government has to pay for them, and why can’t they go back to their countries” type of crap.
Western Intervention in countries like Syria, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Yemen, are the reason many people are fleeing. The war on terror hasn’t worked, and that’s what many of these people should be saying instead of the bigoted crap they say.

As to your second point, you are sadly right. You can't bring democracy at the barrel of a gun or think you can magically fix issues that have been going for thousands of years in these areas. Finally, for all the railing this shooter has done against immigrants,it should be noted people of his race are in fact immigrants to New Zealand and Australia. Funny how he and some of the others who rail against immigrants fail to mention stuff like that.

Speaking of the government having to pay for things, for several years, something has felt suspicious about the fact that people aren't nearly as openly bitter about the government, and the taxpayer, having to pay for war efforts based on false pretenses with corporate ulterior motives! It's precisely because of those wars for Halliburton's, Exxon-Mobil's, Chevron's, and Lockheed-Martin's profits that Middle Easterners have to flee to the English-speaking and/or European world, for their own lives. Why are people so bitter about any government having to feed and house children from foreign countries, but suddenly a kid like me has broken the bounds of civility because I'm bitter about special interests like dirty energy and weapons corporations getting special rights to draft American foreign policy plans?

Just DAYS after this tragedy, New Zealand has banned military-style assault weapons, which makes me wonder what the f*** is wrong with the U.S. when we couldn't do it even after a bunch of elementary school children were murdered. New Zealand didn't just go "thoughts and prayers" and hope the problem went away, that went action. And once again I do not think it is right when people mock those who say thoughts and prayers. They're just trying to give their condolences grievances etc...The problem is there needs to be more than just the words "thoughts and prayers." There needs to be action as well. www.google.com/amp/s/amp.usatoday.com/amp/3230544002

Just a minor correction that Oliver North is the new President of the NRA although it's the still the same bs with them.
